Alex Gilbert

Takes a good penalty. Put one away at Bradford pre-season with aplomb.
I thought he looked like a decent player, but then again, I’m not a Boro coach so I don’t see him train. Does seem a little weird though, that he doesn’t get any minutes on the pitch for any of our sides. Okay, I know it was the B team he played in at Brentford, but I believe he was their top scorer and skipper, so he should know where the net is. A strange conundrum indeed, especially when goals are in such short supply.

We signed him for his centre parting in the photo shoots and as the guy who puts out the cones for training by the looks of it

I am not a believer in players who do the business at U21 or U23 to be honest as most U23 prem teams would be pummeled into oblivion by a half decent
league 1 or 2 side

Hes coming up 22 and has a grand total of 8 games in senior football, i don't count U23 level as experience against kids as experience to
be honest

The level he has experience at was league 2 and he played 8 games and no goals

Just being on the bench he is exceeding my expectations , and i would be amazed if any knowledgeable boro fan thinks any different
Most half decent pros at U23 level look ridiculusly good in comparison with the rest of the team when they are involved to get fitness back
or whatever

My young'un is 4 next week and he doesn't have any interest in football at the minute. He just thinks he's Spiderman and I'm always the 'Bad guy', I'm starting to think it's just an excuse to throw fists at me without getting told off. 😂
Most kids don't have any interest at that age, especially with ipads etc. My son luckily has alot of money and alot of time in he's hands and was decent player himself so has just took him from being around 2, but he would rather watch peppa pig truth been told 🤣

It's hard/wrong to have a go at a lad who never even played for us.
It is not his fault - or any of the other new recruits - that they have been recruited.
I need to look at Scott's record less for a while, as it is just winding me up.
I seriously don't understand how he can have been appointed in to such a powerful/influential position.

I was 3yo when my dad took me to watch this Boro match and I was moaning because I was bored and wanted to go home(not sure my Dad has forgiven mefor that one yet 😂)IMG-20230402-WA0002.jpg

Starting to feel very similar to the Marcus Browne signing under Woodgate, great under 23's player, maybe not good enough to cut it at senior level.
Marcus Browne was class.. had it not been for that horrific knee injury he would have been flying for us.

How on earth can people judge a player that hasn’t even played for us yet?

Our fanbase has slowly turned into a load of absolute whoppers!

I seen one guy criticising Alex Bangura!!
Moronic and embarrassing.. much like the 22 games without a win craic. So bad.

Case in point:

Silvera
Week 1: "Looks like we have a gem here! Gonna tear this league up!"
Week 2: "Terrible player, should never play us again."

Latte Lath
Week 1: "Looks the real deal! Gonna score for fun in this league!"
Week 2: "Rubbish, can't finish, what do you expect from a player coming from the Swiss league"

About as bipolar a fanbase as it gets

Almost like you're quoting different people off a forum with thousands of members

No not odd or strange at all, it's all just a big conspiracy to get Boro fans foaming that you've just stumbled upon.
That'll put an end to their dastardly plans to get Boro fans all confused and hot under the collar... or maybe not!

I'd rather see coburn given a run first.Theese players mite be important once injuries and games mount up.

Away, Marcus Browne was not class at all, christ. He was a player we took a punt on because he was good for West Ham Under 23's, turned out not to be good enough.

I haven't written Gilbert off, by the way, I'm just stating that it is starting to feel similar to when we signed Browne. Good for a Premier League Under 23's side, never actually proved himself at senior level... Adding to the fact we've been utterly useless and he still can't get a look in.

I get it, some fans do go over the top with their criticism of players, but fans are also allowed to make an objective opinion as well.
