Alan Nixon says.

the inexperienced route is a gamble but could pay dividends in the end. Somebody like Bruce would be stabilising and the possibility of making play offs is still there.
Most supporters would want to gamble I think

I think the playoffs needs a much bigger gamble tbh

Any evidence of Bruce being stabilising?

He took over last season with them in 6th, they finished 10th.

He was sacked with them in 22nd this season.

We had an experienced manager in charge and he was also sacked with us in 22nd.

Making the play offs would be nice but it's more important that someone comes in and gets the squad playing the right way with the right attitude.

Wilder should have been that man but something going behind the scenes has caused havoc, recruitment possibly but if it is that we're best shot of him, there's enough at the club to work with now, some may say too many options.

Some poor option's available, I'm somewhat concerned about everything connected to the club just now, needs stability and quickly

I expect Carrick to be announced on Tuesday - it’ll either work or it’ll be another flop. Let’s hope it’s the former
That’s normally how these things work. Tough turnaround to get anywhere near the playoffs (we need to his automatic promotion form) then who do we attract in January? The playoffs might be off the table.. a few loans maybe or some lower league players for the long term looking to be bedded in?

on what we've seen so far this season surely survival is the primary aim? play-offs most certainly not out of the question depending on how new boss does but to be honest i think between now and the end of the season it'll be spent on a) making sure we're not in any relegation danger and b) assessing the squad and deciding how we move forward for next season

We've had more luck with inexperienced managers since I started watching in 1964. They've tended to be here longer too.
Inexperienced managers:
- Rioch✅✅
- Todd ⚖️
- Robson ✅✅✅
- McClaren ✅✅🏆
- Southgate ✅:poop:
- Woodgate :poop::poop::poop:

Experienced:
- Lennie ✅⚖️
- Strachan :poop::poop::poop:
- Pulis ⚖️
- Mowbray ⚖️
- Warnock ✅:poop:
- Wilder ✅ :poop:

Definitely agree that first time managers have worked out better for us. There's also a trend that our managerial appointments have gone from great to awful over time

Survival has to be the priority. January could be a huge window!

I'd like to think we have too much quality for a relegation fight, that's despite the glaring issues with our squad. 14th place for us

Harsh on Woodgate and I think Southgate was better than he got credit for
