I fancy having a play with one of those AI generators that produces "photographic" images. Has anyone used one and got any recommendations? I don't want to spend money on something that is rubbish.

An example came up in a family Zoom chat recently and we suggested it show Sydney Harbour linked by the Transporter Bridge. It produced some engaging images. The programme, I don't recall its name, was then used as a class exercise by the teacher in the group. His kids came up with some entertaining amalgams including a wombat playing a ukulele on the top deck of the 263. It was a free generator through Google, that much I do remember.

Imagine putting the Sears Tower next to the Town Hall. Odd that AI seems to have a better data base on Middlesbrough than Chicago.
Basic Imagine is free and you can gradually get something better. There is a Pro version which is sold on removing ads, but you would hope the quality etc is better than this example. I think you can subscribe for one month for a few dollars to have a go. Not quite deep fake standard with the Basic app.
.... took me a month to realise that I WASN'T using Google's Imagen! ...... maybe I am not yr best AI pic generator source .....

Same instruction for Imagine. Bing has it!
At least no worries when Imagine goes Skynet on us. Bridge designs that don't span rivers doesn't seem like a basis for world domination.
It will be like Daleks and staircases.
