Agreement reached between Derby & Boro

Of course it's a punishment. It's a points deduction for poor club management.

The only reason they have a chance of staying up is because the other cheating side were also deducted points.
Just to clarify, I'm talking about punishment for cheating which was 9 points only. Administration was self-inflicted yet Derby fans lump that 12 points deduction in with the cheating deduction.

Derby fans also moaning about the transfer embargo being an unnecessary punishment. I mean whose money were they going to use to buy players, the HMRC's?

Ho
None.

They should be booted down to the National League or lower and need to make their way back up the pyramid.

Luton ended up there and came back, Bolton in the 4th division and rebuilding now.

They haven't cheated according to the results of the EFL panel however they have maximised every aspect of the last 10 years to their advantage, so they absolutely need to pay a proper price rather than a transfer embargo and potential relegation.
How did Luton and Bolton reach their respective lows?

Were they 'booted out'?

Timing is a massive coincidence (ahem), the day before the tinder box was going to be lit.

It's not a coincidence at all. As the club statement makes clear, the fact that the game was today, was one of the main reasons the agreement was reached.

Gibson and Morris were keen to develop an accord ahead of the Boro vs DCFC fixture to be played at the Riverside

I'm no financial wizard so can someone explain to me how an agreement between Gibson and Morris allows the sale of Derby to proceed according to the administrators statement on the matter?
Morris is no longer part of the Derby structure correct?
If that is the case, was Gibson's claim against Derby or Morris himself?
If it was against Derby then surely that has nothing to do with Morris?

They have been punished. Deducted 21 points.

Points deduction is only a punishment if it has implications, either a deduction to prevent promotion or a deduction to cause relegation. If they end up in a position where the points deduction doesn't affect their league status then it's not really a punishment.

If they end up being relegated then they will have been punished. I'd do away with points deductions and do automatic relegations. They do deductions because it makes it easier to keep seasons running

This is why Birmingham's punishment wasn’t really a punishment and it was done at a time when it seemed clear it wouldn’t effect the club

Derby fans who have said that we are the only reason their club couldn't be sold and stated that once resolved they had people queing up to buy them and it would be sold in 10 days.....well, here we are, day 11, now and not even a preferred bidder announced.

It's beginning to look like we were right and Admin and Morris were scapegoating us to avoid looking at themselves.
