I'm sorry, but am I missing something here? I love Ricky Gervais but is this not the most mawkish, crass, predictable, dumbed down, self-indulgent vanity project you're likely to see?

after watching the part where he sits talking to an old women at the graveyard regular, I wished it ended finding out that one of the graves in front of him was hers . Bit of a 6th sense moment .

I am the opposite, can't stand Ricky Gervais, but loved After Life!

I really like Gervais’ work, how he can get through any scenes with David Earl in them is pretty incredible. He is quite possibly ones of the most underrated comedians or actors in the UK.

Get the hate for Gervais. He’s marmite.

Don’t get the hate for after life though. It’s a bittersweet comedy about grief.

Don't mind Gervais, didn't mind After Life.
Not stellar but it was watchable and brought home some of the aspects of grief that are unrealised until experienced.
