Adama - to Liverpool - £31.5 Million.

Would he fit in well at Liverpool?

It's not as if Traore does the dirty work the likes of Jota, Firminho & Mane doing, chasing defenders for 90 minutes and putting them under pressure.

Plus most teams against Liverpool play with a low block to try avoid the likes of Jota, Mane, Salah running into space behind.

His stats of late have dropped off a cliff too. How many games is it now he's gone without a goal and/or assist?

I know Wolves beat Leeds a few weeks back 1-0 and it was his shot that created the goal, but other than that, I can't seem to remember him doing a lot of late.

Would love to put a top top footballers brain in Traore's body....it would be extremely frightening.

We did, if his release clause was met (and it seemingly was).
That's the point, it wasn't. Wolves couldn't (or wouldn't) pay the release clause . . . and we agreed a contract outside of the release clause to include payment by installments.

I think Traore, like many at Wolves are paying the price this season for last campaign that stretched to over 12 months in all, played out with a very small playing squad. Remember their European campaign made ours look short, starting in mid summer 2019 and not being completed until after the summer domestic season concluded. Their only break in this entire time was the first lockdown and much of that would have been mentally if not physically straining.
Just as when players take part in summer tournaments it often seems to take months if not an entire season to get back to where they were before.

I don't really have Liverpool down as counter attackers.
Even this season, while they've been off form, they've had 63% possession.
That said, I don't think AT is a counter attacking player: he rarely takes the ball on the run, and when he does, likes to slow things down before exploding again.
I'm not sure he's one for the intensive pressing style of Liverpool though. He'd maybe last a half with all that muscle mass he carries.
I definitely see them as a counter-attacking side, but they do press high up the pitch admittedly. Their whole game is about moving the ball very quickly, once they win possession - I think he would fit in perfectly, given his explosive pace and ability to carry the ball past defenders.

Conversely, their system is one reason why Thiago struggled to adapt, because he tend to hold possession longer.

Regardless, I hope he does well because he such an exciting player to watch and Liverpool are as a team, this season apart of course.

I have long been of the opinion that he is most effective as an impact sub.
For the team he is with yes, but as a starter he needs to be in a direct style, 433 with little responsibility to get back and defend. Get him in a team like that, with a decent quality CF and he'll be a star again

It's a good point. Traore was incredible for a period last season, looked like the sky was the limit for him. This season fatigue could understandably affect his form, also hes probably struggled because Jimenez has been injured, the two of them had a great partnership.
I hope he fulfills his potential as I love watching him play and I met him with my kids once and he was very friendly and down to earth.
