My fear is that the latter day politics of Trump and Johnson will become normalised in the US and UK.

Everyone agreed Nixon lied.

I admit, I just had to look up Lord North. I'll have to clue myself up on his involvement with the foundation of modern America and the war of independent 1770 to 1782.

I have been intending to clue myself up more on the 4th president from 1809 to 1817 James Madison, who, I expect you know, created the model for modern US (and subsequently UK) government.
 
Of course they do Archie, but the way our parliament works, the electorate can't do much about it until the next election. If we had a GE today the tories would be decimated. So I can't agree with that statement mate. I know it feels like that at the minute, but it's moe we are helpless than not bothered.

I have said it before for the Jennifer Arcuri affair alone he should resign from public office in shame.

it’s been abundantly clear what was going on whilst he was London mayor. He basically used public money to carry on an illicit affair and grant significant sums in donations to a woman who had no legitimate British company simply because he was having sex with her.

It’s a resignation situation pure and simple and he should be ashamed.

I would like to think that, based on current polls, Johnson would be consigned to the scrap heap or better, jail…

however, I’ve said this before, the public (in general) don’t have the moral conviction for a progressive socialist government…

corbyn shoukd have won on the basis of how polls were going, up until the point people actually had to choose. They were convinced by the media that socialism would be taking money off them and giving it to those that don’t deserve it when in reality that’s what we’ve ended up with but in the opposite way…
