Absolutely dreading Newcastle winning something

I cant believe how nauseous it is already cos they have had a decent run.

Hello you have won fk all still.
our manager St Michael will be happy - surely you want our manager to be happy? - give it a rest - you sing and glorify his name every week. (and rightly so)

end the faux anger against the 'Geordies' - and in any case they won the FA Cup on six (6) occasions & the champions of England on four (4) occasions - its how it is.

But but but they suffered because their owner wouldbt pay over £20 million until his last year whilst absolutely emigrating the championship twice, getting into Europe and surviving in the PL multiple times.
Poor lambs

I'm surprisingly not actually that fussed.

Probably because it doesn't feel like a real achievement from them considering how they're moving towards it.

If they win something, it's always going to be a Saudi trophy.

It's obviously not the fact they're spending big that's the problem, it's where the money is coming from.

If they won something before the Saudi money then I'd understand the frustration.

But their success is going to be very similar to Chelsea/City....trophies bought, not won.

So I'm not overly bothered.

They'll obviously go mental and wild with celebrations when they finally win something, which they will do looking at the shed load of cash they're throwing about, but it won't be due to hard work (as such).

Their future success will be heavily tainted....as is Chelsea's & City's.

I’m wasting no time crying because the Geordies will win trophies. After all, don’t Man City, Chelsea possibly Man U and a few others have “dodgy” backers ?
Look on the bright side, isn’t it time the NE of England was winning things and who knows, with Boro having appointed a manager who knows what he’s doing, some of the success may come our way.

Think about it,Northern Life (ITV)in its opening titles showed Porterfields 1973 FA cup winning goal for 30 or 40 years after the event. And thats only Sunlun imagine if their beloved Newcastle won something.

Ditto, just delighted I don't live there anymore as it would have been infuriating.

They were actually pretty dire when I lived there and even then the mindless optimism was inescapable.

I've heard if they do win something their fans are to petition for a 3 day national celebration for everybodys "second favourite team" .. street parties, proclamations from the King, the whole shebang ..

The reality is they will something and I don’t care. I have no dislike for them I think it may be good for the region as well.

It will cause consternation at Sunderland so take that as a possible positive.

The fact that Liverpools owners can see the writing on the wall. Qualification for the Champions League is vital to their business model with Newcastle showing up that gets much harder and as a consequence they are looking to cash in while they can.

I have a mate who’s a Geordie, below are a few things that he’s said to me this past month which I have had to tell him “have you heard yourself?”

1. I don’t want us to sign a Ronaldo.
2. It will be great to take my son to the fa cup final as his first match.
3. The champions league is more hassle than it’s worth.

Sadly as absurd as they all sound - I remember having an equally confident Man City friend when they were taken over and we all know the rest of that story!

I'm genuinely not bothered - in fact, I'd quite like to see them win something. The fans deserve it to say the least and it brings some positivity to the North East.
Not sure why their fans deserve it to be honest. They've done nothing but hound managers out and hold demonstrations since the end of the first Keegan era 20 odd years ago. They hounded out Bobby Robson because finishing 5th wasn't good enough, and they hounded out Sam Allardyce "because he didn't know what he was doing", then promptly got relegated. They riot enmass and smash up their own Bigg market when the mackems stuff them, they punch horses.

Dancing around with tea towels on their head and waiving Saudi flags singing we've got our club back just shows them for the clowns they are.

There's far more deserving fans in this country who deserve a shot at the big time, those from the lower leagues who follow their clubs around the country year in year out with no bother and no hope of ever seeing their club spend £200 million in transfer windows to buy success.

I'm not that bothered any more. Same with Leeds. If we can compete with Leeds, get the odd result against Newcastle and finish above Sunderland, I'm happy. Especially if we're all in the same division at the same time.
