Again, whatever the fan may or may have not been going through, doesn't justify his behaviour...We don't know what the lad was going through though to make him lose control.

What a weird hill to die on.We don't know what the lad was going through though to make him lose control.
Ramsdale spent half the game picking the ball up & then falling over, catching the ball & falling over, changing sides for goal kicks, having a drink of water and then celebrated in front of the spurs fans.
If you revel in the role of pantomime villian then I don't think you can be surprised if someone else responds in similar fashion.
To me the kick was the same as the old dears that used to whack Giant Haystacks with their handbags and caused as much damage.
Or possibly let out of some sort of controlled institution at all.........If you can't watch a game of football without getting so wound up that you end up assaulting one of the players, you shouldn't be allowed back in the ground.
I can totally understand your point here, I vividly remember taking my five year old to see Cinderella at the Forum. I became so incensed by the windy-up, villainous behaviour of the ugly sisters, I was forced to respond in a similar fashion, and had to run on stage and hoof one of them in her boIIocks. If you revel in the role of pantomime villian then I don't think you can be surprised if someone else responds in similar fashion.
The abuse Maguire gets is ridiculous. A lot of it from people who should know better.Harry Maguire is a case in point - you can question his selection for England on form or lack of, or the transfer fees that he didnt dictate, but the level of personal abuse he receives is beyond the pale. He had the incident on holiday a few years back (can't remember how that turned out) but on field he doesnt stand out to me as a character worthy of such bile and I think it says a fair bit about him that he carries himself so well outwardly, bit who knows to what cost internally? People hide behind the 'banter' word but it has ceased to mean what it originally did.
I missed this thread when it was first posted and enjoyed reading it this morning and whilst reading it I thought about the stick Maguire got last night on the Scotland v England thread on this board. We've all been guilty at some point but really we should step back and put ourselves in their shoes and wonder how we would feel if it was us or someone we love.Harry Maguire is a case in point - you can question his selection for England on form or lack of, or the transfer fees that he didnt dictate, but the level of personal abuse he receives is beyond the pale.
