Aaron Connolly and Folarin Balogun

I actually thought Connolly was decent today and got into some decent positions but wasn’t played in.
Balogun on the other hand, seems to want to make a name for himself all the time when sometimes he just needs to keep it simple.

I have absolutely little doubt that that isn't the case. They played well last week and you can excuse CW for starting them today particularly if Sporar was ill and we have to protect Watmore's fitness.

I thought Connolly was one of our better players today although Balogun is going to have to learn to graft rather than showboat at times. We have 4 strikers but the concern is we still haven't got a goal scorer who will fire us into the PL. I am sure Watmore will start on Tuesday btw.

Agreed about Connolly. Can’t say I’ve been his biggest fan, but I thought he was decent today. Balogun was quite selfish today
 
That’s always the risk with taking prem elite clubs young stars as they will use the exposure we give them to boost their own stock show boating and being selfish shooting all the time etc as it really is all about them.

Let’s face it they won’t be here next season so they prob care very little if at all about the future of their host club.

It really looked like it today. Its just common sense that they are here to boost their personal case for a permanent place at a premier league team.
Theres no way Watmore should be third choice behind these two or three if you count the other loanee.

Only question mark around Duncan is his fitness/enegy level over 90 minutes. But we have the option to sub hime after has scored 1 or 2.

Connolly is a real problem.
He is like Shane Long another short Irish “striker” who can only finish his dinner.

Balogun has not done well yet either.

Really strange decision not to play Watmore and to keep him off the pitch for so long.

I dont think thats the case at all, they were the two best players for us against Derby. Dropping either one of them would be completely unfair and send out the wrong message to the players. Expect we will see either Watmore or Sporar on Tuesday

They have both spent plenty of time on the bench since they signed anyway, nothing to suggest we are having to play them
 
Still don't have any issues with Connolly's performance today, thought he put a shift in and the one chance I'd argue he should have done better with was when he hit the side netting when the chance to square it was on.

Balogun didn't play well though, seemed far too interested in trying to make every touch feature on the highlight reel, I'm surprised he stayed on the full match.
 
connolly worked hard and looked okay. but christ man, he is never going to score goals is he. he'll be a 1 in 4 or 5 striker him at best, not good enough for us. you can just see it. he's a bit poo. balogun just not good enough. it ***ed me off when we brought these two in. a champo team bringing in two kids from prem teams with zero trac krecord in the proffessional game of scoring goals. bot hwere a massive risk and both have shown that sporar watmore uche and hernanzez are better than them.

Young players with a solid scoring record dont come on loan to championship clubs, we are always going to have to take risks on players like this. Sporar will always play when fit, Uche and Hernanez were never going to fit into this system

I agree with this but can’t see Connolly ever being a ‘star’.

Nobody could argue against MOM for Jones against Derby.
