My idea of being sophisticated is having a boiled egg in my bowl of Heinz tomato soupI was gonna say I love Hienz Tomato.

Our lass makes great Soup using fresh Leek, Celery, Turnip, Onion,Potato, Lentil,Split Peas, Bacon from a gammon joint and topped with suet dumplings. Dash a pepper...good winter foodI was gonna say I love Hienz Tomato.

Best way to do it IMHO. Spice it up with paprika or cayenne if you're feeling exotic. Has to be thick and rib-sticking though, not watery.We make 'allotment soup' ie chuck all the veg in together and mush it all up: parsnip, tomato, courgette etc
Sprinkle of course ground black pepper and there's your winter warmer
Just made a "vegetable draw" soup. Going soft - roasted tomatoes, carrots, peppers, onion and sweet potato with smoked paprika, fresh ginger and cayenne. Thick like custard and blisteringly spice.
