A number of EFL clubs request kick off time change for England match

change it, there are plenty of people that travel more than an hour to attend the match, including away fans. We don't want our attendances / income harmed by people not attending. It does highlight how rediculous this mid-season world cup is though!

But those people - especially the away fans - have bought tickets knowing that England could be playing a World Cup quarter final at 7pm on the same day.

How many Luton fans have bought train tickets to arrive in Boro at midday and leave at 6pm? How is moving the kick off forward 3 hours in anyway beneficial for them?

What about all the Boro fans that state on here that club means far more than country? Why should they be inconvenienced?

It's a 3pm kick off in 5 days time. Moving it now will inconvenience far more people than it benefits.

The club might have numbers?

We post 1500 ST to non local postcodes, Luton are bringing 800, 2300 inconvenienced.

20,000 or so get to the game, and have plenty of time in the afternoon to get home and get sorted with their evening plans. If this is beneficial to 50% then 10,000 benefits, 2,300 are worse off?

There are pluses and minuses on both sides, I don't mind either way.

I don't think they'll move it.

The fact they've announced the pick up time for the new bus this weekend would suggest that they've not given much thought about moving it.
Of course they have been thinking about it. I think all the Championship clubs were discussing it last week - I alerted the FSA Championship fans network that kick off changes could happen. Clubs will have been looking closely at fans thoughts on social media as well as the feedback that they have been receiving direct.

Well if MFC is reading this - DON'T CHANGE THE KICK OFF!

In addition to points I have already made, the atmosphere will be much better at 3pm and that will benefit the team. There'll be thousands of people excited not just for the Boro game but also England and if played as a double header, that sense of excitement will permeate around the ground. If we all have to go out early for the Boro game before waiting 5 hours for the England match, that sense of occasion is diminished.

I'd stick with 3pm - a 2 hour gap is enough for most fans to get home/where they are staying.

A lot of the 1500 non local STs live within 90 miles of the Riverside or stay over.

Luton fans will not want to leave home before 8am, if it was moved to say 12.00 they would have to set off at 6.30 am by coach? The type of fan going to Boro away is likely to support Luton first and England second.

I agree I wouldn’t change it now I’m saying it was a ludicrous move to arrange it at that time originally.

In which case they should have been in a position to have made a decision before today, and it would be a good idea to announce that at the earliest opportunity, even if it means there's no change to the existing kick-off time.

I meant they weren't minded towards changing it rather than them giving it no consideration.

I can't imagine Boro doing things to help fans that don't live in the area. Go **** yourselves you should live local would be more in keeping.
However it would be daft to change things at this late hour. The ones who travel furthest will already have made arrangements based on the existing times. Lots will have bought train tickets which are non refundable and will cost £100 or so to buy a new one.

They have been discussing it and weighing up all considerations.

I’ll miss the first 15 or 20 minutes of the England game on TV, but I can listen to it in the car, so I’m happy to leave our kick off as is.
