I wish him well along with everyone else but my issue is not about his role on the pitch ( which is considerable) but it’s his off field persona. He’s clearly social media savvy incredibly popular and he comes across almost as the clubs social secretary, the preseason vlog was one of the highlights of the summer.

He will be a huge miss and I think his impact will be felt really deeply on and off the pitch.

After watching the summer vlogs, I suspect Dan B won't miss him! 😂😂😂

They will love him at Real Salt Lake, they like players to have a personality and to be a part of the community in the MLS.

Shame he's not signing for Chicago Fire, especially as they're switching back to the red shirt/white chest band strip next season.

Shame RSL not on Toronto FC schedule this year but we’ll definitely look out for them on the tube. All the best for you up there in the Utah thin air, Matt! Many thanks for all your accomplishments at the Boro, we’ll really miss you!
 
When is all this happening then ? Posters here have already said goodbye and packed his bags for him. I don't get it. He is just talking to prosplectve MLS clubs at the moment. MLS transfer window doesn't close til Apr 23. So for him to go there we would need to cancel his contract beforehand, and could do so say after the Leeds game Apr 20 if he has everything in place.. I would be thinking that the club would want something for him given every 500k these days is a new development player. But that doesn't fit with cancelling his contract

We're selling him to Real Salt Lake, we don't need to cancel his contract.

He's flying over to America to have a medical, so the only way he's not leaving imminently is if he fails it.

Thought he was rubbish in the Air for his size and very one paced.

bit gobsmacked this has come about ... sounds like Crooksys sorted it with his agent and then told MFC what he wanted and they have agreed ... no pint in keeping a unhappy player . Big Miss
 
Really sad to see him go but I think the chance to live out there for him and his family is too good to miss and will be a real adventure, I expect the fans out there will love him as much as we do.

I think it's fair enough. It would have been better if it were Hoppe but I guess we're still hoping someone will take him as well. Maybe we can stick him in Crooks's luggage.

As with Rogers, it would have been better if it had happened in the summer but you don't always get what you want.
