91% in over 80s and 95% in over 70s have been vaccinated in the UK

The classic 'fully vaccinated' Vs '1 dose' will become the talking point for this year and why we still 'need' to restrict people's right to pursue happiness and prosperity.
I'm already beginning to try to think what 2022's talking point will be.
Personally I'm looking forward to the 'we now have a bad new flu strain' version in a couple of years will give it a new twist just as we all get bored.

Can't be arsed with more of your nonsense conspiracies.

The need for second dose to grant full protection has been a thing from day one, so don't try and pretend that it's the government pulling the rug out from under you.

Rightio kiddo apparently satire is now conspiracy theorism.

I can't be arsed with your conspiracy theories about what constitutes a conspiracy you weirdo.

Had mine yesterday at my local GP, in the main door, got the jab out the fire exit and away, couldnt have been easier

Not unless he invented the vaccine himself. Wouldn’t have been too good for the vaccination programme with his idiot brother undermining it at every opportunity either.

Please note the above post is in relation to the vaccine roll out only
I suppose time will tell if the 'whack the first dose into as many as possible' policy will be the right one but for me the vaccination programme is the only slightly bright spot in what is a miserable winter of lockdown, grim news and utter monotony.
Yet I keep getting told that it would be worse under corbyn /Abbott... You can't have it both ways.

Unless you bought a crystal ball on ebay.

Nobody will ever know if Labour would or would not have done a better job with Covid because it is the Tories who are in power and it is the Tories who will be accountable for their performance. One thing we can conclude right now is that the NHS staff have been outstanding and a credit to the country.
I see your corbyns idiot brother and I raise you de fefels idiot father

De Pfeffels idiot father is a very nasty character who regularly beat his mother in front of the kids (thats not me making things up, it’s all in Johnson’s biography) please don’t associate a post of mine with him.

Anyone who is excited by the amount of people getting half the vaccine needs to go out for a walk in the snow today but only putting socks and shoes on their left foot. See if you're fully protected from the cold

I agree in principle that not following the explicit recommendations of each individual vaccine manufacturer isn't wise but that post is embarrassing and makes you look foolish.

It doesn't. It just seems the point isn't getting across. So many people are getting excited with the number of people being vaccinated they are ignoring the fact that the people AREN'T fully vaccinated. And for one of the vaccines we are ignoring ignoring manufacturers guidance in order to make the figures LOOK good whilst not being so. We are lucky the AZ vaccine can be administered 12 weeks apart. If you don't have a concern about the BioNtech/Pfizer vaccine and us specifically ignoring manufacturers instructions you probably need to think about it more. Hence why I tried to simplify it with the shoe analogy.

It wasn't you who brought corbyns brother into it for no apparent reason.

It was tory boy

Use the quote function correctly then and he wouldn't say you did.

Also Johnsons father is not a covid denier regularly getting arrested. I'll class the idiot brother as a bigger idiot than Stanley Johnson based on that.

Best Wishes

But I'll be part protected which is better than going out with two bare feet ?

This is the longest my hair has been in 20 years.
I'd shave it off but can't be arsed. Got nearly just as much hair hanging off if my face and chin too.
When you're my age it's the ears and nose that you get most growth from.

We're getting there and the optimism levels are rising, the lockdown is temporary.

That analogy doesn't really work does it, because it's not half a vaccine people have been given it's a protective vaccination that's been given that has a follow up booster to give added protection.

Going out in 90 degree heat wearing sun cream but no hat kind of works I suppose?
That's the best I can do anyway..

Yes. I think you've got it. PART protected. Which doesn't seem fantastic when talking about a disease with no fully proven treatment that is highly infectious and can be deadly.

It's more like going out with 2 shoes on but on one of them the seam has split a little.

Remember "90% effective after 1 shot.. 95% effective after 2" is the claim not "50% effective after 1" which your frankly terrible analogy implies.

“Whilst we do not know how long this immunity will last beyond 21 days without a second booster, we are unlikely to see any major decline during the following nine weeks.”

... only one study, needs peer review, data needs to be added from 3 weeks etc ...

One dose Pfizer

(vested interest - had my Pfizer jab yesterday)

Well that's the ethical question, do we part protect as many vunerable people as quickly as possible to keep them from getting seriously ill or dying, or do we double dose a lot less people knowing that there will be still a large section of society who could end up in ICU or even worse, no longer with us.

It was a necessary analogy. People aren't grasping the fact both vaccines we currently have need a booster shot and are just ignoring the fact less than 1% of the population is fully vaccinated. I can understand it from you but people NOT desperate to argue against lockdowns and restrictions are also being confused. Hence why I tried to simplify things

No but does enjoy uneccesary trips to Greece and not wearing a mask.

And surprisingly he was one of the first in the queue for a vaccine.

The sooner he leaves for France the better... With his massive compensation cheque from hs2.

Oh and on the subject of brothers check out how much de fefels brother has made out of hs2 as well.

That's why it's going ahead despite the cost and environmental impact.

Maybe my lack of correct use of quotation marks is because of my education was during the thatcher years when education was slashed to the bone.

You know 40 to a class and no textbooks.

That sort of thing.
