65% if delta hospitalisations have not been vaccinated

Do the maths yourself.

Currently 1200 in hospital. Either 488 have been in hospital for three months and the other 712 have been in longer than three months with the Alpha variant . . . or the number is wrong.
How many of that 1200 were already in hospitals?

The figures were wrong. It was a weekly figure that he'd mistakenly thought was for the whole period.
Is there a way to find out how many people are already in hospitals before a positive case classes them as an admission?

I would assume someone diagnosed by a doctor would have that diagnosis checked by a PCR test within 24 hours.

Sorry worded it wrong. Say for instance somebody is already in hospital for another medical issue and then a few days or weeks later they test positive for covid do they then get classed as covid admission to hospital or something else?

Is this what you want?

According to the PHE report, there have been 806 hospital admissions involving the Delta variant from 1 February to 14 June – 488 of which had tested positive for Covid before arriving at A&E. Of these 806, 527 were unvaccinated individuals while 84 had received both doses of a Covid jab at least 14 days before.

From gov.uk
England data include people admitted to hospital who tested positive for COVID-19 in the 14 days prior to admission, and those who tested positive in hospital after admission. Inpatients diagnosed with COVID-19 after admission are reported as being admitted on the day prior to their diagnosis.

also the phrase "underlying health issues" and the actual age of people who are dying has been quietly removed from the reporting. now it is vaccinated against non vaccinated. I would imagine that 99% of these deaths are either people over 80 or with serious medical issues or both. as it has been for the past year and a bit.

I think that's a big assumption make, particularly on age. I'd like to see detailed data before coming to those conclusions.

that link by motown has it on the 3rd tab along, if you look by week it is still massively dominated by the older age groups. doesn't give data on underlying health though.

I assume you mean deaths as it is pretty clear younger people are the main people catching covid, which wasn't the case before vaccination started. If you look at the number of covid cases you can see the effect of vacciniation over time as each age group was able to get their vaccinations. Compare deaths overall with deaths this week you will the age ranges of the people who died has changed radically. Covid like most diseases is more likely to kill people with comordities but in the case of covid more than half the adult population has at least one comordity. How many people don't have asthma or any other lung problem, diabeties, high blood pressure, COPD or are overweight not that many people under 50 i would wager.

I find it strange that people are concentrating on the chance of death. Surely there should be more concentration on the chance of longer term medical impact.

If you are meaning the models and analysis that is being done. To produce a model you have to define a target variable, this is best to be binary, therefore death is pretty easy to define. How would you define a longer term medical impact ? For example what is long term ? months/years ? you do not have the observation period to measure an impact as the models need to be made quickly. Also how do you define the medical problem, this would be very subjective and almost impossible to define.

According to the BBC today .

So can we infer this is mostly young people ?

......Or vaccine eligible people who by and large have chosen not to have it . (Appreciate a very small minority of adults can’t)

If it’s the latter then I’ll be really hacked off as it’s these selfish people shafting the economy and restricting a move to more normality or travel

Get your vaccinations when offered people and stop being selfish !
It said on the lunch time news earlier today that 53% of those who had died with Covid on the death certificate HAD been vaccinated - i don’t know if that was for today’s deaths or yesterday
