If i'm reading that right, 12 fully vaccinated people died out of 33,000 delta infections? That sounds like vaccines are working fine to me.
Forgive the potentialy daft question, I've stayed away from news websites the last few weeks.....but why are we delaying lockdown ending? Are the hospitalisation levels from "unvaccinated" people still a risk to the NHS or something? Is this just guess work from health experts or are they expecting hospitals to get near breaking point again?
I know they'll be answers but I don't get it - hospitalisations and deaths seem to have remained really low bearing in mind this variant has been around a couple of months now. Pretty sure hospitalisations and deaths for other things FAR FAR outweigh covid now.
Or is it just a precaution? I'm genuinely curious.
At what point do we just live with it?
