Hackney! You know the game where he was absolutely slated on this board. In fact I'm pretty sure you led the charge Wolfy.

(Hackney was rubbish that day by the way)

But just shows how reliable those ratings are.
Every player was awful for me that day. You can skew most arguments with selected stats to suit any argument or agenda.

I love Hackney i just think he's been so very poor this season. Same as people think azaz has been, I understand peoples opinions. Putting a load of stats up won't change peoples opinion, its generally what they see on the day. Beauty of football and why the debate is always good.

Its difficult to stand by any judgement sensibly with this team in this league because its so up and down.

They are heavily weighted towards certain metrics and miss so much of the actual game.

Opinions aren't worthless whatsoever otherwise we'd have mathematicians in the dugout.

Stats should be used alongside observations, observations should be used alongside stats.

We've had this conversation before Laughing. We all know you allow fotmob to form your opinion. You also thought Engel was class because fotmob told you so.
That is a load of nonsense to suggest I base opinions on fotmob, I don't. I use it in game when I trade only. I watch every game. I watch it very differently to the way most fans do though. I use stats to form trading opinions. Trading opinions based on 24 thousand games analysed and re-analysed through deep nueral nets. It works because stats are more right than wrong.

And yes we have had this conversation before. You don't agree that much is clear, carry on and I'll do the same.

Doak isn't on there because he hasn't played enough games but would apparently be just below Chakvetadze.

That tells me if he can improve his final ball more consistently he’ll be the best 10 in the league by far. He doesn’t even need to improve it by much to be that
I was saying in a much earlier thread that he probably will improve too. He is 24,i think, won't reach his prime until, what 27 28 and he is already a very good player at championship level.

It's the reason Carrick continues to play him as first choice. If Gilbert is better, then great we have 2 terrific no 10's.

I watched Azaz a few times for Plymouth and he always impressed me, he had licence to roam and Plymouth always seemed to be under the cosh, so there was always plenty of space for him to play in when they attacked.
When Azaz arrived here you could see he was finding it difficult to play against teams that were parking the bus against us.
I've often thought he had very good technique, has a killer pass in him, but he has to play quicker, I watch how he observes the space around him before he receives the ball and sometimes he doesn't get that picture on early enough so it slows down what he wants to do with it, but this is improving all the time...high hopes for lad.

That chart clearly shows he's well established within the best 10 in the league.

If Azaz plays like he has recently - and Gilbert gets game time when he is fit again - we will have 2 players able to create goals from that position. That can only be a good thing for Boro

He hasn't played enough, he's played less than 7 90s (minimum for the graph)

I reckon he has 2.6 chances / 90 so he would be on that group on the right along with Doak (2.7) and Azaz so we have a hell of a creative 3 behind the striker.
