Ohhhh the joys of being a Boro fan eh?
Honestly though, which way do you see it going? Not sure myself but we need to turn it around quickly as it looks like the players we have available are really struggling right now.

I agree mate.

Think we may as well wind the club up to be honest, never going to win another game ever are we?

Really can't see us getting play offs, although I thought the same last season just after the world cup. Realistically, I'm saying mid table but if we can keep Carrick then lots of positives to build on for next season when I think we'll properly challenge.

We’ll probably finish about where we are now. The squad lacks any really quality and that’s before all our current injuries. We are devoid of a plan B and unfortunately our plan A isn’t really working. Unless we do something really special in the January window then it’s looking like another write off of a season.

I've thought it since the beginning of the season. We have recruited to go nowhere in the immediate term. Lots of gambles and very few look to be paying off so far. We aren't as good as we were last season so mid table is where we belong. We have had good and bad runs but we're of a quality where we will lose as many as we we will win. It would probably be less frustrating if that was more consistent instead of long runs of being good or bad because it offers waves of doom and optimism instead of a steady level of acceptable mediocrity.

We have an average squad, no danger of being relegated and not good enough to be promoted.

Need to change our system and initially focus on not conceding. We concede at least two goals a game which is very dangerous as we short of strikers….

It is what it is, average mid table team going nowhere, we play some nice football at times but so do the majority of championship clubs. I'm afraid it probably comes down to what Steve Gibson wants to do come January, will we buy, will it be another bunch of loanees coming in. I think another season under his belt for Carrick and some further experience for some of the youngsters, I'm not really hopeful for anything else this season unfortunately, I hope I'm wrong!!

Surely we're exactly where we expected to be?

Preseason the general consensus was that we didn't have as good a squad as last year and that seems to be playing out.

For what it's worth, I don't think the squad is terrible compared to last season and talk of relegation is premature at least! I think we have more chance of finishing top 6 than bottom 6 as it stands.

At the moment mid table mediocrity.

Saturday will probably be another write off(Swansea might have a new manager by then) so everything is in the cup basket

It’s about right really. We should not have lost tonight, but have been too inconsistent to really challenge for promotion.

That said, injuries are completely killing us at the moment. Smith out for the season is huge and not having McGree and Forss means we are short of good options meaning those available are playing loads of minutes.

Ironic isn't it that last season, when the squad lacked any depth, we sailed through with almost no injuries.

This season where we've recruited a 23 half of them get injured at the same time.

We had a big 2nd half of the season last season, and we're probably going to need an even bigger one this season.

Have to just keep plodding along for now, hoping we can pick up a few wins to ensure we don't drift too far away from the play-off positions, bring in some quality in January and hopefully we'll have some key players back from injury.

Gut feeling is that we're going to be midtable this season though.

We look very much a mid-table team I think. The positive is the players are mainly ours, something to build on, not a bunch of loanees (We'll obviously get some in Jan)

We have 3 or 4 key players missing at the mo, once they're back we'll be better. A couple that are decent projects for the future. Maybe a Jan loanee that might actually stay next year

This year for consolidation, next year for a push

Not sure I agree. There are no goals in that team. We don't have anyone capable of scoring the goals needed. That defense is pretty much what we have now and we're conceding 2 goals per game.

That squad is good enough to challenge for a playoff spot but it would still be a coin flip whether we'd make it. Most championship teams have similar flaws so we'd have a chance but last season's squad was good enough to challenge for the autos. This year we're nowhere near that level.

scuppered the season through the loss of several key players . No good bitching about the reserves that have come in not beating Leeds or Ipswich and others . I for one will keep watching and looking for the top players to return. Like the Rav and fry partnership tho ... not sure about Engel and deffo not sure about Dijksteels fall from grace
