I think the priority points system does help get people in for games like this. The extra 3PP will have swayed some fans decision I think.
There's probably people who have bought a ticket for the points who don't even bother going

What gets my goat are the endless tv montages and adverts for live games proclaiming 'the magic of the cup'. The irony seems completely lost on them that yes there was 'Magic' once but that television has played a huge part in that now being a mere mirage in our memories.

The 'Magic' was when 99% of games were played at 3pm on 3rd Round Saturday. When winning the FA Cup was seen as important and as glorious as promotion or winning the league. When cup runs galvanised a club and the whole town together. Giant killings, excitement, hope and the best cup competition in world football.

All ruined by the endless chase by so called 'super clubs' for more and more money to chase an unreachable nirvana of what exactly... no one entity can win everything forever as that would be boring even for the club winning so what are they all chasing exactly? Its all bonkers.... and dispiritingly sad but I have my ticket for tomorrow!

Agree

I was debating whether to take Junior Smoggy to the game tomorrow. My brothers arent going (one of which travels from Leeds for every home game).
I'd decided that I indeed, was going to go. But then noticed the 12pm kick off and though eff that. I both love and hate what TV money has done to the game.

I actually don't mind the early kick off, get some of your Saturday back and leave the ground in daylight.
And I'm looking forward to seeing how some of the fringe players get on.

.
Do you not recall Big Billy's sitter against Orient way back in 77/78 and that `orrible Andy Gray in 81, which lead to the demise and ultimate decimation of what was John Neale`s team :(
David Mills also missed a sitter against Orient when he didn't know whether to head it or kick it.

Andy Gray's header was a quality goal.

Orient were very much bottom half division 2 (now Championship). Glen Roeder played very well for them and then played the rest of his career in Division 1. It was a shock result as we had beaten Coventry, Everton and Bolton before Orient - all on paper much better teams than Orient. Cardiff in 2008 reminded me of the Orient game.

To be honest I say fair play to the fans who stayed away and didn't legitimise an FA Cup 3rd round game being played at 7pm on a Thursday night in January (which just coincidently happened to be the coldest night of the year) with a large crowd. If there's any complaints about the size of crowds meaning that there's no interest in the FA Cup, this is exactly what five or six clubs at the very top of the tree and some broadcasters want you to think. Remember this tarnishing of the competition when Port Vale are struggling to get out of League 2 as they are being blocked by Tottenham Hotspur B sitting on top of the 4th division.
