Cos he will be staying until firm interest in him is there. I’m not against him staying at all by the way and he may do, but he feels to me he will leave towards end of window once we get a striker or 2 through the door as Carrick sees him as back up striker it seem but we all know he doesn’t suit it.

And attacking midfield areas can’t see him getting a kick anymore.

Giles would be an absolute bargain at £5m imo

Agree his game time will be limited, but he seems a really good pro in and around the team. Sometimes the team is more important than the first 11 and if we lost him, I think he could be a big miss in the camp.

Agree it would be the loss of a big character around the place if he moves on. Similar to Mowett, who by all accounts was a popular/ positive character, despite not always being on the pitch

Because he's a good egg, good personality. But I said last season, he isn't technical enough for Carrick as a striker, and he isn't fit enough for CM and he'll be gone in the summer. He will go with the fans best wishes, memories of some good goals and a great guy. I'd think a championship side with play off pretentions would go for him because he scores goals from midfield. Should be able to get 1-1.5m really.

Exactly, he has a bit of old school nastiness about him I think. He's good to have on the bench and bring on in a game where some of our younger players are getting a bit bullied.

Like an older brother turning up at a 20 a side game on the park.

A lot of our new young lads are big lads, doubt they'll get bullied too much
