Interesting that the treasury (Tories) put this pay rise in so it comes into effect in 2025 when Labour are running the show. They will be smearing dog **** on the door handles and putting kippers behind radiators next.

So either Labour will get flack from the left for paying it, or flack from the right for cancelling it, FFS.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The royals are parasitic thieves, that should be removed, they’re anti-democratic, self-serving and it’s an utter farce that anyone should treat them as special and better than anyone because they’re not, they’re far worse than most people.

That goes for Charles, Liz and big daft racist Phil and William and the whole lot of them dead or alive, including the compliant media that continues to push their image and fail to correctly hold them to account for ‘value’ for our tax money.

And as for the flag shaggers that think it’s some taboo subject to question living without a monarchy, get your heads out the sand and grow some f… dignity

Two years ago it would be 50-50 support/anger at my post, times are changing rapidly, Liz was on the throne longer than me after a phall, she became untouchable, she’d been there from before most of us were born. The loss of that consistency, the hand over means now we have Charlie and people are struggling to justify why he should suddenly have all this wealth and power, without any vote by the public.

Median nurse salary is 39,500. So instead of paying Charlie every year we could have over 3,100 experienced extra teachers.

Of course the full cost of our royal family as per Republic.org investigations is a minimum of £345m (each and every year) prior to this ‘pay rise’ so a minimum of £384m after, but likely even higher. That’s knocking on for 10K extra experienced teachers.

But instead we keep spending money on one of the richest men on the planet purely based on the vagina he happened to fall out of 74 years ago….baffling how anyone can prefer to give him wealth and power rather than have another 10K experienced teachers

When he became king, he made some vague promises to modernise the Royal Family, which I took as meaning cutting back on the ridiculous, out of touch, bloated, pompous, expensive waste of money that the huge royal family have become . But instead we got this:
