Undiscovered Desinations is good. Based in Tynemouth. https://www.undiscovered-destinations.com/Looking at a few different options for holidays this year and next year. Quite fancy booking every aspect with a single agent to take some of the stress out, although assume we’ll pay for that privilege….
Exactly how we did it. In Cambridge in fact too. Maybe 7 years back mind.Yes i have used them
Very good at booking a bespoke round the world trip for me as a solo traveller but it was about 15 years ago so no recent experience. I just walked into their office in Cambridge one Saturday and did it in person - no idea if you can do that now
Same here, though 20ish years ago, and through London office. Turned out the RTW ticket I'd bought was even more flexible than they'd told me.Yes i have used them

What did you think of the world on your trip. I reckon it's one of those places that's good for a holiday but you wouldn't want to live thereSame here, though 20ish years ago, and through London office. Turned out the RTW ticket I'd bought was even more flexible than they'd told me.

I did same, booked from their place in Newcastle in 2005ish. Was very handy because I don't think all travel booking was 100% available online at the time, or I was not that wised up on it back then.Yes i have used them

Can’t disagree. I did three long haul month long trips in the space of four years - allI'd probably do it all myself these days. Reckon you'd be able to save quite a lot if you invested some research time and effort
“light the blue touch paper and retire”However - and I'm just pointing this out as a fact and not trying to start an argument - they have a long history of being a big donor to the Conservative party including a hefty chunk just prior to the last general election.
Traditional travel agents have made a come back since COVID. Booking your own is fine until something goes wrong, changes are needed etc. They shouldn't be more expensive either, in fact they have access to deals and incentives from the travel operators, plus they can add little extras that make travel easier. We always try to help with parking or priority security etc. We’ve booked a fair few trips various places ourselves with little/no trouble, but last year we had a problem with a flight cancellation less than 2 weeks before our holiday that caused all manner of problems - had to cancel different hotels, still trying to get money back for the flights.
Just wondering if the premium is worth doing given it provides additional safeguards if something does go wrong….
