4 more years of Trump

I’m glad he is so busy and has so much to do, imagine how much nonsense the board would be infested with if he was sat twiddling his thumbs behind a lap top. In his bedroom. In the childhood house he still lives in. With his mum.

I'll add my take on it too, it's quite simple really.

There is something in the American psyche that worships god, money and 'freedom' - above all else.

'Above all else' is the important bit, because it excuses his misgivings.

Another thing that they worship is 'heroes', whether it be Superman, movie stars or sports heroes.

Trump knows this, and continually eulogises these concepts in his tweets & rallies etc, entrenching his position as the 'hero' who will provide 'god, money and 'freedom' .

And they lap it up
If he is the hero, then 'socialism' is portrayed as the villain that Trump has been brought in to defeat. I put quotes around 'socialism', because most americans don't really understand what it is and means and conflate it with communism. For 60 years the american people have been brainwashed by media that anything on that end of the political spectrum is evil, that even a single socialist policy is theft. This message has been pushed by the billionaire elite that know that they will be the ones who take the brunt of increased taxation to pay for socialised services, and actively demonise it. Trump has done so too, his repeal and replace Obamacare message was exactly that, but he couldn't find a solution in that first term that would make his even remote possibility of a second term happen. If, and it's not looking likely, if he gets a second term he will remove Obamacare, people will pay more, but get less pre-condition coverage and the very people that depend on it, the poor, the ones who voted for him, will be left feeling used and betrayed.

As soon as I log into Juninho10 - this website doesn't load at all... honestly it takes ages it even post a message, I also get error messages like "Oops! We ran into some problems. " - it's a feature of the Xenforo Forum software to limit a posters use - It's called a "Permaban" - how long that will last for.... I don't know as @rob_fmttm hasn't communicated anything to me, no warnings, nothing - a bit like North Korea

As soon as I log out of the account, BAM the website works totally fine
I have never heard of anything called a permaban. But perhaps it is only fair you share in the irritation you inflict on others everytime you hit post. Where did you get this permaban idea from?

nope, I had the same issue after about three weeks of purely footy posts. You are not permaban'd clear your cache, try a different browser, it will work again, and stop being paranoid.

This is on point. I remember having a discussion with some friends in Indiana about our NHS. The look of revulsion and disbelief, followed by several rants about communism convinced me that they really are THAT brainwashed and beyond reproach. Next time I saw them I kept my thoughts to myself!

I agree with you up until this last bit

The greatest irony of all is that Trump voters do not and will not feel hard done by if Trumpian policies mess with their lives.

They don't see themselves as individuals to object to 'The American Way' - no matter how hard it hurts

I think as part of their school system they are largely brainwashed. The school curriculums are subject to state governor interference, and therefore politicised and subject to pressure groups. It's why the next generation grow up thinking that the theory of evolution has no true evidence (pushed by religious pressure groups), that the right to bear arms is so important (pushed by the NRA) and communism was the great war through the later 20th century in vietnam, cold war, cuba (as pushed for by several groups that are the equivalent of the TPA).

Oh they won't all feel that way, but if Trump were to get a second term, rip up Obamacare, then a significant number of people will suddenly have no healthcare coverage, others will have no coverage of pre-conditions, some of these people will die. It would shave 10-20% of Trumps popularity within a couple of years. If he had done it first term, he wouldn't be competitive in place like Kentucky for example where there is a huge poverty, and a real reliance to be propped up by the other states.

I have actually met Americans who have told me to my face that they would rather die because they can't afford to go to hospital than have 'socialist healthcare'

But yes, I am sure they are not all like that

It’s the emperors new clothes, some sort of mass delusion. Clearly something is awry and I’d be interested in how huge numbers are manipulated by what in the face of things is a ridiculous, orange, crazy haired, pouting imbecile.

I do fear we are heading the same way though, our press and the divisional approach of the Conservatives are mirroring America.

The fact that so many voters equate social ideals as “far left” verging on communism is scary.

The message has to get across that “socialism” means you! Your children, your family and that the people who oppose socialism the most are the people who take most from society and aren’t a part of it.

.
The issue is that it's pretty easy to get people to use emotion not brain. Make vague enemy, tell them how they are making your life hell in a very abstract way, then use the right trigger words and packaging to stoke the emotion further. I agree it's the same here, terms like 'the loony left' are a dead give away for those people that have been manipulated by the rhetoric.
