3 month gap between AZ jabs given thumbs up by report in Lancet

Isn't everything in life a gamble? 🤔

Just admit that they did well. It won't hurt you.

see my other post, I don’t think they have done either well or badly on this gamble, but I do believe we are allowed a government to do some things correctly without shouting about it.

The best data will come when people are fully vaccinated and deaths are at a minimum. The acid test will be when we reach the bottleneck of vaccinating those who need their first jab and those at 12 weeks.

I still believe the strategy is a huge risk but understand the desperation the government now has due to their monumental failure in managing this crisis.

I hope this works so we can get to holding this government to account for their incompetence and cronyism.

I hope it works, it could save a lot of lives, but I can’t be doing with this particular Tory government and their media cohorts crowing about it.

At this rate the 9 key groups will have pretty much been vaccinated before the 12 weeks comes around so they can all get their second jabs before starting on the u50s

Problem solved

I have no time for the Tories or this regime at all but even I can agree that the vaccine roll out has been fantastic my uncle in billingham was given his first jab last week and my folks are getting it this week in Stockton so I know that the roll out has worked.

it really would be churlish not to recognise that.

As someone classed as clinically extremely vulnerable I hope that is the case. Still waiting though.

This isn't really news.

The Oxford jab was always supposed to be 12 weeks apart, Oxford/Astra Zeneca supported that from the beginning.

It's the Pfizer one that's the worry. Pfizer don't support the 12 week gap, it should be 3 weeks, and they make no claim as to efficacy with a 12 week gap between doses.

No 5hit Sherlock

Not this rubbish again. I'm beginning to think you have some kind of agenda with this.
What's rubbish about what he said? It's correct isn't it?

Just for clarity because we STILL don't seem to be getting this. The AZ was always OK to be administered 12 weeks apart the Pfizer one wasn't. If its not effective after 12 weeks then the government have taken a massive gamble with people's health and are negligent

I’m surprised at the number of posters on here who are just blindly following the media in saying what a fantastic job the government are doing with the vaccine.
They aren’t, they are just doing their job via the NHS, they’ve taken a few gambles with the first and second doses which may or may not pay off.
This isn’t being miserable about it, it’s just the way it is, there is a long long way to go yet before anything is a great success.

No wanderer just facts, the same facts that are available to you, should you wish to look. If you are going to attack the poster, at least back it up with a study that refutes what the israelis have found in the real world. That would be a start to a debate.

Let me help you a bit. During real world vaccinations in Israel, they found that after 1 Pfizer jab, at 14 days the efficacy was 33%. They then retested at 17 days and the efficacy was still 33%. There was not the anticipated rise in efficacy beyond 14 days. That is an opinion backed up with evidence.

Your turn?

Oh and my agenda is only truth.
