Agreed. India are obviously a good team even without the best player in the world but there's such a big gap between these two teams both in ability and approach to the game. We haven't had a clue how to play one day cricket since Morgan retired.

I think it is clear from the whole winter programme that England are light years now behind an India and Australia when it comes to white ball cricket. It’s not even close.

You could take 'white ball' out of that and it'd still be correct

As much as I love him I'm not sure where he fits into the T20 side - Salt, Buttler, Brook, Livingstone and Bethell are all now fixed in the top to middle order and it seems like they want to try squeeze Duckett in too at the expense of Will Jacks.
I'd prefer Root to put his feet up and concentrate on Australia at the end of the year.

That top order is hardly firing and winning matches. They need a batter to build around. Root will be off playing franchise cricket rather than sitting with his feet up. I would say it's nuts not to play an all time great. There's only six T20s before the ashes anyway
