23rd - 27th Dec

Most on my street have been doing what they like since March so I don't imagine Christmas and New Year are going to be any different.

About 10 days ago, the girl over the road from us, who's boyfriend works away, announced to everyone on the facebook group how she and her two kids had Covid and how they were having to self isolate for 2 weeks. Then within half an hour she and her kids went out in her car and came back a couple of hours later with a McDonalds, and her friend who has been living with them since. They have daily visitors, they all go out at least once a day and her friend gets picked up by her boyfriend most nights then gets dropped back off a couple of hours later. The most bizare thing though was that she asked her neighbour last week to put her bins away as she couldn't go out. This is what we are up against though, and this is the sort of selfish and irresponsible behaviour that has stopped me from seeing my family at Christmas.
I just came home by neighbour was saying goodbye to her sister who has been there most of yesterday and today, she’s also a career for her grandkid, not to mentions she goes out everyday. This is before the relaxation of the rules. I don’t want to fall out with her but I just ignored her when she said hi to me as she was waving off her sister, I kinda want her to recognise I’m peed off with her. Like you say meanwhile I’m likely giving up any form of Christmas with family because I will stick by the rules as laid out.

It's so frustrating, especially when many of these people keep going on about how bad a year it's been, when actually they've mostly been getting paid to sit at home and get p!ssed for the last 8 months.

I've made my feelings known to a few of our neighbours, but they don't care. It certainly hasn't stopped them, but fortunately I'm not alone, theres a few others who've said stuff to them too.

I’ve stopped short of confronting them as I just want to keep the peace in that respect. I’ve said on here before they were the first out clapping for the NHS every week and when you speak to them they talk about others breaking rules but either don’t recognise it in themselves or have some how reconciled in their own heads that they are justified in what they are doing.

I find people who don’t like their own company struggle - people who need to be around others. For me whilst it has been hard to lockdown I’ve just got my head down and kept busy at home - there is plenty to do.

Hopefully it will al be over soonish!

So if you are on furlough you can't have an opinion on how **** this year has been?

You do realize there are many who have been put on furlough and are barely scraping through each month don't you? Furlough hasn't been sunshine and rainbows for everybody you know.

That's utterly ridiculous, these sort of people absolutely boil my pizz :mad:

Because of this policy, how many people do you think will needlessly die in January/February.

Do you think it will be in the hundreds or thousands.
