I think it's a good idea. It seems nobody has patience anymore. Most cars today accelerate too fast, and electric cars haven't helped. It's a road, not a racetrack.
Tbf it’s difficult to get up to 20mph on some roads in London during the peak times…I've been working in and around London for a few months. 20mph zones everywhere.
It's an absolute nightmare to drive and actually stay under 20 mph. Are cars 'designed' to sit at 20 mph for 2-3 miles ? I mean I'm no tree hugger yet sitting at 20 mph in a city in 3rd or 4th gear can't be great for emissions?
How can it be hard to drive at 20?Have you ever driven at 20mph for an extended period of time other than on roads where you're basically forced to (because of speed bumps every 50 metres, for instance?)
It's a bloody nightmare. It's hard enough only going 30 in a built up area.
A blanket restriction doesn't make sense and will not be supported (see Wales).

all 30's went to 20. It is unpopular and kinda difficult in 4th gear. 3rd is no problem but does take getting used toIt wasn’t a blanket restriction was it? I think they still had some 30 limits.
I think it’s a great idea btw, less pollution, less accidents, less deaths, less noise. It might even encourage some out of heir cars and maybe walk or cycle.
Most journeys are under 5 miles anyway, a lot even less. People surely can cope with 20mph limits?
Very hard when the 20mph limit is on a road where it shouldn't beHow can it be hard to drive at 20?
I didn't say it was hard, I said it was a nightmareHow can it be hard to drive at 20?
It’s hardly difficult. Anyone who finds it hard probably shouldn’t be drivingVery hard when the 20mph limit is on a road where it shouldn't be
