Only 349 left on the site, as of 09:00am this morning.

I believe away tickets go off sale on Wednesday at 3:00pm so get them snapped up if you're thinking of going!

Looking forward to our first away game of the season. UTB.

Terrific turnout👌

It would be nice if anyone brought remotely that many to the Riverside.
london, thames valley and the south east is 'home' to plenty of boro fans - you wont find to many southerners/londoners living around North Yorks/teesside/durham - and thats the difference - simple economics & geography.

thats not to recognise the magnificent away boro receive from our fans from across those same areas - NY/Tees/Durham etc - outstanding commitment & support

Ref Ticket numbers

The ticketing site has only 352 tickets left including wheelchair tickets, but the club have stated 600 tickets left - one figure is incorrect. All the blocks are released. I don't believe there are 248 tickets stuck in fans online orders. The only explanation is that the original figure of over 2,950 tickets available is not true and the real figure is around 2,550.

I agree with JVM that there is significant number of Boro fans who have moved to the South East for work (which highlights the large difference in work opportunties especially for professional work). People from the SE don't tend to move up to anywhere within 20 miles of Middlesbrough.

It is different though in the Premier when we play the likes of Chelsea/Arsenal/Spurs and quite a number of people from places like Scotland come to games to support their Chelsea etc.

This tallies with what is quoted as the number the stand holds on the away fans guide....
Away fans are situated in the upper tier of the School End, where around 1,800 fans can be accommodated. If demand requires it then the lower tier can also be allocated, increasing the number of places available to about 2,500. If the away club only takes the upper tier allocation, then the lower tier is allocated to home supporters. Alan Griffiths a visiting Barnsley fan informs me; ‘the entrance for away fans to the School End upper tier is no longer in South Africa Road, but on the opposite side of the ground in Ellerslie Road (turnstile block 2).

It is a dangerous game counting ticket numbers online - at a meeting with the club last season after the Spurs and Chelsea last season it became apparent that the online maps were really misleading for those games. People were panicking but the club were sure that once everything had refreshed that it would show far more seats still available. There is a big time lag.

Is this the 10% that is held for corporate, they are put aside until the deadline for buying which luckily for them seems to be the entire length of the selling period?

Strange that our away numbers already seem to be down on last season considering its only first game, would have expected this to sell out long ago

Fear of rail strikes and the ticketing has been very buggy for weeks.

Good that everyone is getting the opportunity to buy a ticket. I think we need to remember that for the next match.

Holiday season, train strikes and you can't ignore the lateness of the tickets, respect fans and give them ample time and they will find a way to go, a lot of people on here are committed to travelling so don't get the issue of the lateness but a there is a another category who aren't as committed who might or might not go but what will totally deter them is lateness of tickets I fall into this category,

That would be true if he was only talking about London teams but he isn't. What about teams from the Midlands and North West?

I'm not convinced by that. Yes we have a decent southern following. I mean I'm one.

Yet doesn't exclude some pretty poor away supports from some 'so called' decent sized clubs.

It's not a long distance away day for anyone Birmingham North. Also a whole cluster of northern clubs don't bring many.

Although I don't want to turn into a Leeds or Newcastle / Sunderland with 'we've more fans than you' 😂
