2,612 sold for QPR

Strange that our away numbers already seem to be down on last season considering its only first game, would have expected this to sell out long ago
As said something doesn't seem to quite add up, as many blocks have completely sold out (eight main blocks greyed and previously were nit grey). These blocks are just over 300 tickets each that gives around 2,500 tickets alone. The three blocks to yet sell out include two small end blocks only approx 140 in each.

Someone said the upper tier is 1800 and that is all sold out plus 3 of the lower blocks.

Fans are using the ticketing site online to purchase, if its significantly inaccurate. that is a problem isn't it?

If fans chose a ticket and out it in their basket they should be timed out after 15 minutes?

Thre is one other possibility - that over 400 tickets have been greyed out for corporates and not taken but only realised today. Which if true is wrong. Corporates should be given 48 hours to purchase and 400 would a lot?

The allocation is 2961 for this match.
When the sales are very slow there should be no reason for the site count to be inaccurate. I believe the OP to correct.
I suspect the MFC number to be slightly out of date/ a rough estimate.
I can't imagine MFC have a different view of the ticket site.

It's just the same for them.
London draws people in from all over the country.
Johnny was saying that we have an advantage over London teams because whereas we have thousands living down there, they don't have significant numbers living in the north, so I was referring to north and midland teams not travelling to the Riverside in large numbers.

Fair enough, though I do wonder how many turn up from the SE versus the NE for a typical London game.

That’s hardly the point. People buying now are faced with higher train fares and perhaps hotel prices as well. Attitudes like this hamper efforts to improve the service and experience for everyone.
Train fares are about double in price from a year ago.
Trainline way too expensive, lner the best prices but still expensive.

The prices obviously fluctuate so additional notice (after being able to purchase a ticket) can only help the consumer get a better deal.

Having people move away for work knocks our home attendences, but helps away games.

In the championship we had the biggest away followings (despite finishing 7th) but not for home games, in part due to the migration of people away from Teesside, in my humble opinion.

Ref Train tickets - some of the split ticket companies are cheaper than trainline.

Its costs me about £33 return for rail tickets to London the journey for me is 150 miles each way. Thats about 11p per mile. The equivalent from Teesside to London would be £55 return. (These are railcard prices). I have to be flexible on travel times.

Those who say train prices have doubled in a year - are you now using the Gary Monk Trainline?

Some companies aren't selling any advance tickets on certain days which has really bumped prices up.

My train up for the WBA game was £82.80 because I could only get the standard flexible fare. Same route for the Sunderland game is only £55.80.

Obviously not the fan representative
Not at all - I have sent many emails to the club recently about reducing costs. I have asked for subsidies for transport in August with its exceptional distances to cover. I have also pressed for reciprocal away ticket pricing, something that was sadly not backed up by all home fans. I am just pointing out to wait before jumping. If the game sells out it will look the same from outside as Fulham last year - tickets for which went on sale even later. But also last season was the first game after lockdown, everyone was desperate to see live football.
But let's see what happens in the final days of the week about tickets selling.

Middlesbrough Supporters South at one stage was the largest English club supporters group in the South East. Rangers and Celtic were bigger. Didn't they hire a large boat to go to some games - a sort of Boat that Rocks sailing up and down the Thames with 200 Boro fans on?

The brain drain from Teesside is at least 40 years strong.

If you are from say Birmingham you don't really need to move unless you want a very specialist job in finance etc

Paddington before the cup final. There were hundreds of Boro there travelling from London. There may have been Bolton fans there but they were keeping very quiet and there weren't many of them. Middlesbrough is an isolated place. Loads of us have to move for work. I'd say we have much bigger diasboros than most similar sized clubs.

From where Clay? i.e. what distance are yiu travelling? (I work out value based on miles)

For QPR away I did notice the Saturday price was higher than other days.

Liverpool, so about 140 miles.

I'm doing most of the QPR trip on the stopper West Midlands train because Avanti have basically given up running a weekend service, so that's going to be a long day.

Ref: Tickets

2,961 initial allocation (source MFC website)

276 total tickets left on website (remaining blocks added up from number data on MFC website)

My maths says 2,685 sold in some capacity.

All corporates must have been returned by now.

Biggest away Championship Boro following in London for a long time?

QPR has never been more than 2,200 since AK days in 2016

Millwall is about 1700 capacity, same for Brentford.

Fulham 2,200 away end - max

Charlton 1,800?

Watford is 2,200 - max capacity

We did have over 3,000 at Spurs for a cup game.
