Shootings in America are so common that it's not really internationally newsworthy unless it's a mass one.

Isn't Chicago one of THE worst cities in America for shooting deaths?

Local coverage below....the first one detailed there is in an atypical neighborhood for a shooting (and about 2 miles west of the house we are moving to next week). The vast majority of gun crime tends to be to the south of the city or in certain parts to the west (or occasionally right in the middle of downtown during the early hours of a weekend morning).
