£5,000,000 Djed Spence

5mill plus performance bonuses then! We need to get up and can't wait for Djed to sort his career out
 
I just don't see it with Spence, I really don't, he's fast but his decision making is awful. I think £5m for him would be good business from our point of view considering we have Dijksteel, Fisher, Peltier, McNair and even Howson who can play at or at least cover RB.

Take the money and throw it at our weak area, creating and scoring goals.
 
Agreed ,don't see what it is about him , average, quick .....his only plus?, poor passing & decision making & ball watches a lot ....take the money & find us a passing playmaker please

Do we need potential or do we need more quality now? We have a small squad and a small budget, I'm not sure we can afford to carry too many projects. There is also no guarantee that Spence will improve, his last season performances were generally very poor. He maybe had 2 good games and a handful of adequate performances out of 30+ matches. If he stays he really needs to knuckle down and train hard and be a sponge from other players and coaches. His first 15 appearances were positive but largely on his physical skills, he now needs to show a big improvement in technical and tactical.
 
I think 5m for a player like Spence we couldn’t turn down, as Warnock says he could go either way. He’s certainly not at the level of say Aarons yet. 5m with a 20% clause sounds reasonable to me. There is a player in there but difficult to know what his right position is.

He is still so inexperienced and young - he has potential to go a long way. I really think fans need to be more patient with our young talent - but in these COVID cash strapped times we need the money to reinvest in the now I suppose.
Good luck to him if he makes the move.
 
Sure i read somewhere today his £5m asking price was being slashed and we would probably accept half that now
