Got a strong cv and we’re delighted to get him in the building
Yeah but remember them light shirtsPlease don’t say “CV”… it brings back awful Wilder memories!
Wilder always referred to fans as 'punters' as well, which I found strange.
Old Trafford, Feb 22.It will be interesting to see how Wilder gets on next, he demonstrated at Sheffield United and then with us that he has no plan B. Perhaps it’s common knowledge in coaching circles how to defeat Wilderball?
It was fantastic on Saturday to see the reaction of the players at the end of the game, Giles flew over to the away end as soon as the final whistle went and must have fist pumped about 6 times, the whole team, including those subbed, went into a huddle, it really felt like there was massive belief and togetherness. As someone else pointed out, I haven’t felt like that at a game since Karanka’s best days. I’ll be honest I was close to tears, haven’t felt that feeling of shared joy and togetherness between players and fans for a long time.

Fry wasn't awful under Wilder at all. That's the narrative Wilder spun because Lenihan was his man and that's who he was pushing as his main centre half. Lenihan was responsible for the majority of our goals conceded during the first 6 (roughly) games. Fry wasn't at the top of his game but even by that standard he was still our best defender.Fry under Wilder was awful, his drop in form was shocking. Seem to recall a lot of fans saying cash in over the summer.
We all had a laugh at McClaren/Beswick but the importance of mental wellbeing in sport cannot be understated.
Getting hauled off at HT - in consecutive games? - when he was one of many playing poorly clearly screwed his head.
Wilders man management has certainly been brought into question since his dismissal. For all his self confessed progressive management/tactical genius, the basics of good player management was shocking / totally lacking.

Awful decisionSuppose you can add getting rid of Payero to the list
This was going back to last season too.Fry wasn't awful under Wilder at all. That's the narrative Wilder spun because Lenihan was his man and that's who he was pushing as his main centre half. Lenihan looks a miles better player under Carrick. If Johnny H calls it a day, at the end of the season then Lenihan must be a shoe-in for the Armband. He’s also got a great knack for being in the right place at corners. This was going back to last season too.
Sorry, but I disagree. Fry's form dipped alarmingly but I'm putting this down to system/Wilder and confidence draining from the team. Fry was one of the players to suffer the most with Wilders man management. He goes, Carrick comes in, he looks like a player again.
Lenihan was even worse, that is true, but the pair of them are starting to form a decent partnership in a settled back 4.
I thought Wilder talked about how they'd made changes to the infrastructure at Rockcliffe with the purpose of bringing the academy and the first team players together?Maddo made an insightful comment during yesterday's commentary about how the club was United again at Rockliffe. Suggested that the previous management team kept themselves to themselves and clearly didn't engage with the academy set up and other areas within the club.
Good to see that Carrick has addressed that and brought it all back together.
The players have spoken about the positive spirit round the club, they certainly look happier than they did a month ago and that is showing in their play.
Actually not quite, it was bringing all the staff together.I thought Wilder talked about how they'd made changes to the infrastructure at Rockcliffe with the purpose of bringing the academy and the first team players together?
You rotter, that's brilliantBasically he knocked a few walls down to make it more open plan so he could save himself a walk down the corridor and instead just bellow "Liddle, your players are ****!" from the comfort of his own office.
