Wilder meets the Fans

Connelly lived in the same apartment block as a friend of mine in Eaglescliffe while he was here. He said he was a bloody nightmare, young kids always going in and out, he even had to ring the club about a dog being left in there all day and somebody had to come round and let it out. Steffan has moved in now, but not before it had to be gutted and the carpets replaced.
Im very surprised that premiership footballers would live in an apartment particularly in Teesside where they could pretty much afford to buy or rent any property they like 🤷

Sporar took his first goal so well when he smashed it home on the run towards edge of box it unfairly slanted our opinion of him....that was his first moment...his best moment...and his last moment all In one...without that he would have got pelters
Agree, plus the fact the bar was so incredibly low from fletcher, britt, akpom and hughill from seasons past!!!

And is Chris Wilder willing to take any responsibility for these facts, as they both came in under his watch and he gave them numerous starts particularly the lad who was here & wanted to be somewhere else? It's all well and good slagging them off but could we have got better players? In fact getting one striker and persisting with Uche off the bench would probably have been better and I think most people would have said that on Jan 1st too.
I agree. If we had a lad who didn't want to be here, why didn't he give Watmore and Coburn more game-time? At least they would have bust a gut for the cause.

I think he also needs to take some responsibility for Sporar ultimately flopping here as well. First few months after Wilder came in he persevered with him, and I was one of the ones saying that I couldn't see what it was others' were seeing in Sporar. Around Christmas time though he seemed to be coming good. After scoring that goal at Blackpool I started to believe he could become a bit of a cult figure here, but then Wilder gave him and Connolly a run in the side together and they never clicked.

I believe if we'd have just kept Hernandez and rotated Hernandez and Watmore playing alongside Sporar he'd have finished the season with 13/14 goals to his name.

Proud? Nope. Just demonstrated that when you raise a view - that was proven right- those detractors are silent and can’t accept they were proven to be wrong.

But hey feel free to take whatever slant on it that suits you
Understood. It wasn't an 'I told you so' post.
You want any posters who disagreed with you many months ago to remember that fact, apologise and confirm that they were wrong and that you told them so.

Rob is it not a bit weird that this seems to have been limited to a very select group of fans? Could you ask how they selected the group. You get to speak to Wilder every week, something most of us will never get a chance to do.

What a shocking signing then. No lessons learnt from the Braithwaite disaster and it’s clear that bringing young players from South America is a huge gamble. Especially with tight finances.
It will happen again because without money attracting players to the NE is a struggle and because it is a struggle we get desperate and bring in risk players.

On the loanees, CW thought the fans gave Sporar an easy ride here, that we had a 21 year old & lad who was here & wanted to be somewhere else

The following question, would he consider bringing any of the 3 back, without a thought, no was his answer
I don't get this? I wasn't Sporar's biggest fan but what did CW want, for us to boo him? He was the fella who picked him week in week out even though it was pretty clear he wasn't good enough. Strange one.

Was anything said or mentioned about our scouting focus uk based to overseas. Are we still looking at overseas markets.

On the flip side, look at them up the road. All the money in the world and they STILL can't attract anyone! :ROFLMAO:

All young footballers want is a decent bedroom, super fast wifi and a 100 inch TV screen. They don’t need 5 bedrooms, a garden and a play area for the kids. Most apartment blocks are very secure especially the car parking.

Regarding attendance, it seems like it was a closed shop, bit like the mason's perhaps.

Anyone care to clarify how attendees were invited, as many others who fancied it, didn't see it advertised 🤔
Invitations went out to all registered FMTTM email accounts last week ( I found mine in the spam folder). If you replied and confirmed interest, then you went into a draw - the first 36 names were invited. Apparently I was number 53 and seventeenth reserve, but I was still able to observe via zoom.
