Wilder meets the Fans

I hope the disabled supporters appeal raised a lot of money for their new mini bus.
Middlesbrough Disabled Supporters Association urgently need a new vehicle to go to matches and have been making appeals now for a couple of years - difficult times for fundraising. Lets hope a good total was raised on the evening in the envelopes placed on tables.
Basically the disabled fans association have to constantly fundraise for their transport - due to the cost of converting vehicles they are always having to target the next vehicle down the line but at present the situation is pretty urgent.

And is Chris Wilder willing to take any responsibility for these facts, as they both came in under his watch and he gave them numerous starts particularly the lad who was here & wanted to be somewhere else? It's all well and good slagging them off but could we have got better players? In fact getting one striker and persisting with Uche off the bench would probably have been better and I think most people would have said that on Jan 1st too.
you want him to publicly apologise for some loan signings that didn't work out? Why? I'm sure he reflects on everything and learns from it, but it would be weird to make an apology at a fans meeting

Sounds promising on the signing front!
I also think we gave Sporar an easy ride, he was one we just liked so maybe his performances didn't match how we viewed him
Connolly was a complete and utter disaster with his Girlfriend in tow and the Pally Fanny, going off to Italy is the best thing for him
Balogun I think has huge potential, I wouldn't have minded him back tbh, wilder clearly didn't fancy him
I personally thought Balogun was a waste of space running away from the ball if it was in the air. I presume the 21 year old was him.

Never heard of some of those supporters groups

"There were representatives from a number of Boro supporter groups including MSF, Rainbow Reds, Tw12th Man, MDSA, BoroSC2020, and Boro Fusion."
No Red Faction?

Be interesting to know who many people each group actually represents but I guess there's no way of knowing for certain

Yeah, an apology is a bit over the top like.

No, not expecting an apology but I was just asking for any more context to what he said, i.e. was he shocked how they turned out, did something change during that 6 months, etc.

fair enough. there's also the question as to whether he was the person who pursued trhem, or whether they were way down the list.

Why hasn't the Q&A been made public? Who were the invitees? The MSF is supposed to represent the interests of the fans are they not? All seems a bit secret society.

Rob said it was hastily arranged and didnt have time to hold a full democratic ballot to satisfy everyone. I don't get the big deal. Not helped of course by some "joker" making out there was and it was also made available on zoom when it patently wasn't.

MSF only received a maximum of 10 tickets per organisation. It wasn't a secret society. I picked up my tickets (8) on Thursday. I handed them out at 6pm last night.
The whole room was made up of invitees. That is obviously the way the club chose to do it as a thank you to fans they had worked with one way or another.
But as I say the Forum were only given a handful of tickets each. A maximum of 10 per grouping.

Totally understand from a logical POV why MFC did what they did with the tickets, at such short notice.

However, it was a 'MFC Supporters' event and we have hundreds of thousands of supporters who have just as much right to see and listen to Wilder's comments last night as the ticketed fans do.

So I'm not sure why the minutes/video/notes etc of the meet up with the fans, last night, aren't available to everyone.

How did you choose who to give the tickets to?

I emailed people that I thought might be able to make Monday night - someone had covid, several were unavailable. I couldn't publicise it because I only had a handful of tickets. And as I say I only collected them on Thursday. So, there weren't many options really.
The tickets were for people that help out in the different groups - so that was my starting point - people that I work with at fmttm. But I didn't know if the rest were going on sale etc.

Haven't I read somewhere recently that Colin knew 7 weeks before he was off! Don't believe a word a footballer tells ya!
