Derby , again

derby have 5 players under contract for next season - the rest will require new deals - Rooney said last week he will need 40 players across the club.

their fans are crowdfunding for £6,000 so that they can do a flag display for the last game of the season V Cardiff - they may be better off just giving the crowd funding direct to the club to pay for next seasons grass seed for the pitch..
It's a huge job there, because of admin they will probably have to operate under the stewardship of the EFL, with a budget and business plan that needs their ratification. So they'll be struggling to offer any good deals even by League One standards.

Same happened to Bolton, I don't know if you can remember but they started a League Two game a few years ago where about 7 of the players were making their professional debut. That could be Derby in August.

I was at the Baseball ground with my son, his first away game, it was at night.

Two lads we knew from Eston were getting walked around the perimeter, somehow they were in the wrong end, no comment.

I walked to the front and shouted to the Steward they were with us. He let them jump over the wall. Different times.

Are the likes of Tom Lawrence still picking up over 30k a week and Wayne Rooney reportedly double that ?
How would you feel as a creditor if you were getting 20p in the pound of what you are owed?
The whole thing stinks, the powers that be should have wound Derby up a long time ago.
If you play with fire you get burnt.
Thank god for Steve Gibson

There`s a couple of their young players worth pinching, including local Max Bird.

Tom Lawrence might think of his mate Richard Keogh when they play Blackpool on Saturday.
Keogh has been integral to keeping the Tangerines in the Championship.

Lawrence may pat himself on the back - for Derby trying to overcome the drop.
But, he wont be picking up anywhere near his reported wages anywhere else.
Hes a small fish in a big pond.
Maybe Lawrence will end up down the road at Burton Albion or sitting on the bench at Mansfield?

Jason Knight looks a player with a decent future, I'd happily take him

Forgive my ignorance, but what's the current situation with their finances? Is this guy Kirchner really going to buy the club or not? If so, when would he do it? And is there a deadline for the sale before they get liquidated?

The rumour is that he plans to knock the unsecured creditors and offer HMRC a take it or leave it deal on the tax debt. They would still have to pay 100% to the football creditors, as the EFL would refuse to sanction the transfer of Derby's golden share (membership of the EFL) to the new company if they don't.

Even if both the EFL and HMRC do sanction the deal, if Kirchner doesn't agree to pay the unsecured creditors at least 25p in the Pound, Derby will be subject to a further 15-point deduction. Apparently, Kirchner is asking for this sanction to be applied this season (when they're already relegated) which there should be zero chance of happening.

Very much up in the air as to whether the takeover actually happens, I'd say.

25p in the pound or 35p in the pound over 3 years is my understanding to avoid the points deduction. I also believe they can't receive the 15 point penalty in the same season they entered administration. A rule all clubs, including DCFC agreed to.

Thanks - appreciate the reply. So I wonder when this takeover would have to happen. I thought they were on course to run out of money on May 7th?

I wouldn’t bet on this take over happening. The fella seems a bit of a chancer. His personal net worth is pretty modest considering the investment he is going to have to make. He messed PNE about when he tried to buy them. Could be another false dawn!!

That shocking. HMRC should say no.

Defer the golden share if that is the case.

Agreed.......Gibson's fault I presume

All through this there has seemed something 'off' about Kichner. From his leaking information on twitter to Derby, to blaming Gibson directly for Derby not being bought and persisting with the 30m+ claims even when Gibson stated it was rubbish and was in discussions with Morris for a much lower fee. To his abusive homophobic personality on line. His personal wealth is reportedly less than 10m, he'd have to leverage up to the eye balls to get Derby, something is just 'off'. I smell a rat with this guy.
