Astra Zeneca vaccine withdrawn

I don’t have a problem with that, if you want to undertake a medical procedure because you think it might benefit you then great - but when people are bullied or coerced into taking something that they don’t really want or are unsure about taking, then yes i definitely have a problem with that.
Ask yourself why people didn’t really want it or were unsure.

It’s mainly because of people like Mike Yeadon, Claire Craig, Delores Cahill and other grifters who spoke out against them with no real basis. Seeding doubt.

You're missing the point. Vaccines work at population levels, they can' be judged on individual anecdotes.
I have no problem with vaccines (you’re missing the point) did the AZ work? I caught it again and passed it on, as did others…

Have you ever thought that just maybe a bunch of professional medical experts actually do know a thing or two and that, statistically, some people are just unfortunate?

Other than some very early strains, the vaccines weren't expected to prevent people getting Covid. The idea was to get enough people with enough antibodies to slow it down and reduce hospital admissions - exactly what we had to have lockdowns for prior to the vaccines being made available.

The vast majority of people had a very minor reaction to Covid - sniffles and a bit of a cough. Plenty didn't even know they had it without testing.

If you had a bad reaction then you're in a statistically small group to begin with. The vaccines might have helped or done nothing at all for those people - it's impossible to tell as there's no way to do a simultaneous experiment with two of the same individual - one with and one without the vaccine.

However, we know vaccines work. We know how they work. The Covid vaccine was based on research from other vaccination programmes.

In any normal society we'd be hailing the medical geniuses behind the vaccines rather than creating conspiracy theories and using anecdotal evidence to rubbish them.
Who’s creating conspiracy theories here ? Silvera has said he wishes he hadn’t had it for personal reasons, my brother a similar story, and all I’ve said is people should not be coerced into taking them - where’s the conspiracy theory ?

But I got Covid again and passed it on to other people (quite a few) did the vaccine work?
COVID isn't/wasn't a single thing. There were several strains and you could have been protected against one, which was the most common, but you were unfortunate to get one of the other strains.

Or maybe you were just unfortunately one of the 10% that the vaccine was ineffective against but if everyone takes a vaccine that is ineffective for 10% of people then 90% of the population is vaccinated which reduces the chance of it spreading to the other 10%. If 100% of people don't get the vaccine because they think they will be one of the 10% then nobody is protected and it will continue to spread (or there will be a lockdown).

Maybe? I had 2 shots my wife ended up having 3, we both got reinfected and passed it on, it seemed to happen a lot.

It might for some but clearly not for others, such as my brother who got progressively worse bouts of Covid after every one of three shots he had

The vaccine doesn’t stop you getting Covid or passing it on to other people. It just reduces your chances of getting seriously ill.
Well I’d already had Covid and had the antibodies, the line from the government was to get the vaccine stop the spread and protect the vulnerable.

Open any medicine, any paracetamol and there are listed possible side effects - often 100s of them. Unfortunately, some people even die from taking them.
I do not get the anti-vax thing. There wasn't any hindsight. People were dying by the 1000s each day in this country alone, and every other country was the same. Vaccines were developed and most people realised that a tiny minority might be adversely affected by taking them but it was better for the vast majority to take them.
I thought it was clear, from the start, that the vaccines would not prevent COVID but would most definitely improve your chances of survival.

Nobody on here has said anything anti vax - some have said they regret taking the covid one, but that doesn’t mean they won’t take some other vaccine in the future.

Yes. AZ (and other vaccines) worked. Which is why we came out of lockdown.

Asking if the vaccines unlawfully killed people.
Asking if the vaccines work.
Saying the vaccines were untested.

All anti-vax conspiracy theories that have been doing the rounds for a few years.

Covid mutated down also to a lot less harmful…which was one of the reasons we came out of lockdown…all am saying is I like many others took the vaccines and we still caught it and passed it on, but like many have pointed out, maybe my family were unlucky? Different strains etc.
