Favourite movie ending .

The Graduate

The ending to the original Carrie. Every horror film goes for the shock ending now but this was probably first and best.

Not a film but a story nonetheless. When I first heard this in the car I pulled the car over and played it again. Thesong is superb the ending brilliant..............Did he or didnt he.

I absoutely hate the ending, it is just so pretty and nice, urgh. It would have been a million times better if he had dug up the box and inside was a confession from Andy that actually he did go full on OJ and really commit the murders.

Now that would have been an ending!
Couldn't disagree more. 20 odd years wrongly incarcerated, beaten, mentally tortured to breaking point, raped and many other sinister things that Andy went through seemed more than enough darkness for the character. It needed the light.

I love dark movies/endings, but your suggested ending to The Shawshank Redemption would have rendered the previous 2 hours as pointless. Andy's story is about hope. About not giving in when the whole world conspires against you. Get busy living or get busy dying.

He remained a good man in the face of injustice and brutality and in the end he "won".

The Hustler and Paul Newman's tirade as he mops the floor with Fats.

Blade Runner ending also is iconic.

Departed (Infernal Affairs) was one of the few endings that genuinely surprised me.

Apocalypse Now.
It’s a bit of a bloody ending so won’t put a link up. The Final Cut version is on the tube.

Blade Runner had a fantastic last 10 minutes, mind you the other 80 are pretty darn good as well
