I'm a bit worried about Houchen's footwear now. We all know what Gibson can be like when he's angry. Keep a close eye on your shoes Ben. It would be awful if something bad happened to them.
He's 82??I used to play with Chris McEwan at his house when we were about 9/10 - his parents were free and easy hippy types and I loved going round. Then we went to different schools. Last time I saw him must've been about '82. He was a top guy, Not surprised he's done well. Hope he smashes that Houchen character

How many of those are on the public Freeport pay role rather than real jobs with businesses? The last TVCA figures showed we were up by net 1,000, give or take a couple of dozen.
Teesworks site is to be turned into a massive Unicorn farm. What do these 9000 jobs comprise of ?
Houchen says:
"“We have already secured 9,000 jobs and the deal done will return £1.3bn over next 40 years, as the independent report says, to our local communities which will support fantastic local projects."
The jobs number is just speculation. He cannot possibly know that will happen. Another number pulled out of his@rse.
£1.3 billion over 40 years = £32 million per annum.
What does he mean by "will return"? Is that return to the businesses that he believes will be on the Freeport or is it the amount that will be returned to the public via the 10% ownership of Teesworks? £32 million is tiny if it is the former and barely respectable if it is the latter.
Absolutely meaningless horsecack. By the time he fails to deliver on the jobs, investment and returns, he's long gone and set up for life.Houchen says:

Got to laugh at that.Just goes to show how different we are to London. Chicken feed.
Writing in The Times on Thursday, The Spectator's Katy Balls said some Conservative MPs refer to him as the "£160 million man" due to the amount of money his region has received from the Government in recent years. “If someone was to write the history books in 30 to 40 years’ time, they would describe the last six years in Teesside as being the catalyst of the transformative change brought about here," one Tory in the region told PoliticsHome. "It hasn’t seen investment like this since the Victorian era.”
Last week Jacob Young and Houchen were putting the number of jobs currently at the freeport as 1200.How many of those are on the public Freeport pay role rather than real jobs with businesses?
