Looks like the 3 that went up last season are coming straight back down again then

And rightly so

At least Luton are going down putting up some kind of a fight, but the other 2 have been embarrassing for most of the season.

Throwing money around isn’t enough - you need to sign the right players, have the right managerial set up, and a good team spirit to survive in the top flight

Quite possibly, but Everton's second deduction is yet to come and they haven't won since December.

I really thought Burnley would make a right go of it. Instead they’ve mainly struggled all season.
It is a surprise. They played some really good stuff, last season. They certainly looked the more likely of the three to adapt to the Prem but have struggled from the start.
The gap between the Prem and the Championship is getting bigger, year on year.

Could be wrong but did Burnley not have load of loan players last season, so the current team is quite different from the championship team kind of had to add a lot of new players which have not really worked out

They've got their best chance of 3 points on Saturday against a team that hasn't won in I think it's last 13 matches

Everton will be getting points deducted by Monday - and all the bottom 3 have them to play before the season's finished

Everton haven't won in 13, and their game in hand will probably worsen their goal difference , as it's in probably the most one-sided derby in the country results-wise in recent years

I don't especially like Luton, but they're as good as level or above Everton if they match them for points at the weekend
If they beat Everton at home (they've beaten them twice away this season) they've got even more chance of getting clear of them

Do you think we’re planning a smash the league summer transfer investment this year, really roll the dice because next season might be a relatively weaker Championship?

You’d imagine Sheff United will be a shower. Kompany might well leave Burnley. I still think it’s between Luton, Everton and Forest for the last spot but on paper next season looks easier than this one.

At some point we’ve got to really give Carrick the tools for a proper go, he won’t stay forever.

Nathan Tella was a key player for them, scoring 17 goals but he was only on loan from Southampton and ended up going to Bayer Leverkusen for £20m.

I'm not sure whether Burnley tried to sign him or whether they decided he was out of their price range.

Depressing looking at this year but Forest, Bournemouth, Fulham etc have all kicked on since being promoted not long ago (last season?) so it's not all doom and gloom. Even Villa.
A bit early to say Forest have kicked on as they may well still go down this season and survived last season by breaking the rules.

I think Luton will stay up. I’ve said it since the playoff final win, I think there’s a thread from that match where pretty much everyone said they’d be relegated in no time. They’ve managed to keep themselves in with a chance going into the second week of April. I think if they can just pinch a win the pressure comes off and the teams around them will start to panic even more. I can see them doing it. I hope they do it.

I was hoping they would but their good run has turned into an awful run(3 points from the last 30).
It will be annoying if Everton get away with it due to the failure of teams below them, rather than their own efforts.

Luton have a reasonable run in that’s for sure but they aren’t showing the battling stuff they were producing a month or two ago and injuries are hitting them. Losing at home to Sheff U, failing to beat Forest were red flags for me. I think they will be relegated. The only team that might escape are Burnley and that’s unlikely. They are at least showing some mettle now with their recent last few games - drew at Chelsea, West Ham and beat Brentford
