I won't be renewing

The club appear to have shot themselves in the foot by the price rise and failing to make any permanent signings in the January window after making a big sale and allowing fan favourite Matt Crooks to leave. It felt like the club had written the season off half way through and people aren’t happy. We shall soon see how this effects sales but there will undoubtedly be a drop in season ticket renewals as a result of all this, coupled with a largely disappointing season

I'm not a season ticket holder, mainly do away games and watch the streams. I understand people giving up as the ridiculously priced renewals have coincided with some of the most apathetic performances I have seen in a long time, with some players simply going through the motions. I was at Stoke on Saturday and will be at Birmingham next week. I may well not bother watching tomorrow or Saturday though. This also coupled with the strange decision to sell one of our most committed players outside of a transfer window and sign a left back on loan when we didn't need one but desperately needed a centre forward has really ***ed me off!

The maths don't make sense to me. I reckon we will lose more revenue by people not renewing than we will make from the increase in prices. Seems a commercially naive decision.
Definitely. Although it is impossible to quantify how many haven't renewed because of cost and how many haven't renewed because of performance.

It's a sad state seeing posts like this, but I completely understand why. I have said it numerous times, watching the Boro can be a luxury for most, as a lot cannot afford it or simply think that their money is better spent elsewhere. The value for money element is questionable at times, but these things are swings and roundabouts like most of us know.

I always remember my Dad saying that he felt like he had to get me through until I was 14/15 and could then I could begin to decide on whether I wanted to go on my own accord. He gave up his ST in 03/04 (unfortunately for him!), but having been sat round the same lads for years, I was quite happily sat there on my own, as such until I got older and my mates were all grouped together.

I think the point I'm trying to make is that if you have young children and have been taking them during these good times, if you can afford it, try to continue and keep the kids involved.

The issue for me, with our current pricing structure, is once a season card holder decides not to renew there's a chance you lose that supporter for good. The walk up prices are beyond a joke and the 'new applicant price' for season card holders is just completely baffling. The whole pricing structure needs ripping up and starting again, with an aim of filling the ground as much as we can.

Ultimately we are all customers paying for a product, and when we are being charged significantly more for a products of poorer quality than fans supporting other clubs are, then it’s only inevitable that people will start to walk away

The clubs being so badly run it's just not making the key decisions at the right time the club is not listening to the fans creating this massive disconnect.

Over priced tickets is the final straw for so many people and rightly so. Over a thousand pounds for two season tickets for adults before any travel costs or spending on match days, for many would give a nice holiday or an opportunity for a large purchase and then you are getting into the realms of making your customers making difficult decisions on what is value for their
money?

I would get Bausor out personally and get someone in who can move things in the right and can see when things aren't going right and proactively deal with it.

I love this club but please stop the own goals.

UTB!!

It's been shocking on and off the pitch this season. Total PR disaster from the club this whole season ticket debarcle.

Wait till you all find out Steve Gibson offered all of Red Faction FREE season tickets for next season during discussions for reduced ticket prices. Apparently they never took the offer up as the reason for the initial protests was for the whole fan base they said. And that is direct from someone who is part of red faction

Iv not said anything previous but the club is becoming a joke.

I think it's a concerted effort by Gibson to completely rinse the fans. I'm a season card holder but I agree with many that the price differential between SC and walk-up is obscene.

He's even closed off the opportunity to buy a half season card as a Christmas present which is so stupid it's almost laughable.

Will I renew? I'm not sure but £1,020 for two is a lot of money.

If true, that is appalling.

that is an absolutely wild statement if it is true mate!

Absolutely 100% true unfortunately, my dad was appalled when I told him season ticket holder since ayresome park never had a thing from the club yet Mr Gibson offered free season tickets to a section of supporters while the rest of us are asked to just suck up the increase in cost.

I was even told not to say anything. But I think fans have a right to know - I wish I could back this up with evidence but unfortunately I can't. All I can say is the information is from someone more than reliable.

I think the distinction is we are not 'customers' in one big sense -
We have nowhere else to go if we are dissatisfied.
And, even if we don't go we can't get it out of our head.

Not like getting hacked off with Asda and deciding to go to Aldi :ROFLMAO:
Well not for live football, but I'd expect many would happily watch majority of the games on iptv, as many already do instead of going to games. It's not for me but we'll have plenty of fans who do

When we spend the SUMMER WAR CHEST and win the first 3 on the spin, the club will be quids in from all the walk ups who didn’t get STs

I'm finding it difficult to believe this is true - I just can't believe that Gibbo could be so stupid
That's actually part of why I held of saying anything as I found this out around 2 weeks. I thought people would feel it was total BS. Red Faction believed there was real chance the group may not exist next season due to over half of them not renewing next year.

As I said they apparently didn't take him up on the offer as they wanted reduced tickets for all. However I'm not 100% convinced on that. But with the sudden stop in protests ... who knows.
