The Gazette have grown a pair.

Reach has cut its permanent staff to the bone and has become a clickbait site for advertisers.
Reporters [“Journalists”?] are fighting for their existence, so are churning out headline makers and speculation, instead of facts.
Reach strategy, having seen a drop of 17% in views in the last year, has been to turn it into "clickbait trash”, according to a former journalist at the Manchester Evening news.

Page views down 19.82% year on year. And reputation continues to be trashed. No positive reputation now.

MEN down almost 50%.

Tide and time waits for no man, one day in the future Gibson will cease to be our chairman. Will Boro cease to exist ? we have existed for years before Gibson. We will survive way beyond Gibson, like the rest of the football league.

They appear to be in panic and hoping advertising and increased views by clickbait will help them survive above journalistic content.

Good article for once I thought. I smiled at the 'transition season'. For all my many years supporting (sorry being a fan of) Boro there have been far more transition / rebuild seasons than not. As with most clubs these days it's just constant churn like treading water in the sea to keep your head up, keeping going as best you can in the hope of hitting a jackpot one day, a low cost young team that will set you on a run for a few years... Sad but true, and we're all addicted.

You mean like the likes of Darlington, Workington, Southport etc.?

I get what you’re saying but there is nothing clickbaity about this article in my opinion.

It’s very honest and unfortunately accurate.

I think the poster means Clubs with previous local owners that are no longer local - Sunderland for example previously owner was local large car dealership owner, now US owners. Hull seem to have ambitious Turkish owner. WBA and Brum have just been bought by US owners.
Darlo, Workington and Southport were always lower league clubs with limited fan bases.

Johns was initially criticised when he started reporting on boro games for not being a boro fan by many on here. Personally i think having someone report from the outside is a good thing and should ensure more honest reporting around the club. Gibson wont like it one bit mind
The only reason I have ever slated Mr Johns is because he can't seem to string a sentence together properly. Plus, I don't think his computer has autocorrect. To let Dom Shaw leave was a big mistake from the Gazette, but I'm loving his podcast with Scott Wilson.

Johns is a Mackem though, probably why he was criticised so much.
