VAR is only as good as the person operating it.
That's a roundabout way of saying they're shíte then.VAR is only as good as the person operating it.
The element of intent has never been removed from the laws. The only type of offence it was removed from, was fouls involving physical contact.I'm nervous of (re)introducing intent into the equation for any infringement. It's effectively impossible to prove as the only person who knows whether they acted deliberately is the player themselves. Otherwise you're imposing a mindset on someone, based on your own perception of an incident.
Arguably Chelsea have an advantage with VAR in place for the semi. The VAR debate goes both ways though, I'm glad it will be in place for the semis as the Chelsea player that, imho, deliberately stomped on Gordon's Achilles would have been red carded.. will, hopefully stop them getting away with diving for pens & cheating..
Yes it needs to be quicker, esp for offsides.. & football in England has implemented it badly..
Clear dive. VAR should have picked that up.That penalty for Jota tonight. For god’s sake almighty. What the hell is that about.
Dunno on that one, Endo is standing offside and runs forward and grapples the player who would have been in front of VvD, to deliberately prevent him being there to challenge him. Ironically, if he hadn't done it I think VvD would probably have scored anyway. What have they done to football. Jesus wept.
"subjective offside", wot a load of shitte
I'm sure Bolton fans would have a very different opinion than you do on those situations. Can you imagine celebrating like an absolute maniac in Cardiff only to have to wait about for three minutes while they ruled out Zenden’s penalty. Or the agony of watching Mike Riley trundle over to the monitor to give a penalty against Ugo for handball at the death.
They have absolutely ruined top-level football.
