MSF Chair Standing Down

Never wanna see anyone feel forced out of anything and if people are abusing him in public that's vile. I dont think I've ever spoken to Mark before, but I'm not shy about my views on MSF.
I dont think it's democratic, I feel its a box ticking excercise from the Club and I don't think it's managed to actually improve anything worthwhile.
If you want the group to work it needs to be more than a few groups involved and it needs to have much more openess to the wider fanbase. I know the reason why one group left, they felt it was a pointless excercise.

On a seperate note;
Borolad - we know eachother personally, I dont think the digs at RF are fair, as understandably you've heard a certain fmttm viewpoint of this, which from my understanding and the oneboro post is actually quite different, RF didn't agree to go with the MSF status. From my view of things people are seeing RF as having had more effect on this matter than the forum supposedly on all fans sides, people are free to view how they wish.

People take great umbrage at a very poorly communicated price rise, then think their sense of entitlement gives them a chance to throw abuse at anyone involved in the situation, even those fighting their corner (on a voluntary basis).

One of the most irritating things about this board is every time Rob offers a chance for a question to be asked at the press conference you get a load of sit-at-home nobs suggesting he's just an unthinking club stooge. Pretty childish, but some people never leave the school playground behind them.

It's sad as he has had to take the abuse for something he had little to no say in. This is a result of the club not discussing pricing with fans before the launch

That has definitely been recognised now. I can tell you that for certain. The message has completely sunk in. I think whatever happens next season we will see a completely different picture - everything will be more open. We decided that collectively at the meeting on Tuesday. But then the abuse followed and the people that were just starting to relay a message from Mbro Supporters Forum got absolutely hounded out.
As a member of the forum I can with confidence say that every fan group represented in that room spoke out and up for all fans. Outcomes from this meeting are owned by each and every person in that room, not any one fan group or individual.
Mark most definitely does not deserve the abuse he has received.

It is very easy to sit behind a screen and abuse MSF, but remember that we are fellow supporters who are doing our very best to have all fans voices heard and acted upon, and we do this in a voluntary capacity, we do not get any perks like some folk think, we pay for our tickets and merchandise just like everyone else.

We do understand that not every fan is afforded the opportunity to speak to Senior management of the club and we do not take that for privilege for granted, and we use the privilege to put forward fans views and thoughts. But we do not run the club and have no control of decisions made...we do our damned hardest to influence those decisions for the best outcome for all fans.

It’s unfortunate that anyone who has the right motivation to represent a collective interest feels they need to step down due to abuse received. We see this in all walks of life, the abuse given to local councillors on facebook groups, teachers get it from parents, death threats to politicians. If only this strength of feeling could be channeled into support… but I suppose that means standing up and being shot down doesn’t it!

Free Pint - I think we have had our falling out in the past and maybe it is time we started being civil again.

Everything has to be more open from now on, you are right. But lets stop the harassment now - that will help us to be more open. Mark was actually trying to impart info on twitter but was just being shouted down. It is not a healthy state of affairs is it. But we can all do something about this.

As I said above let's have a mechanism in future on this forum where we can discuss meetings before and afterwards - but DISCUSS being the word.

Well that explains quite a lot - as soon as X/Twitter comes into play, the fooking dregs of social media turn up for a pile on. Vile platform.

I was witness to what went on on the meeting thread.
Suddenly you think RF are beyond reproach?

As Rob said, might be a good time to let dust settle.

I take it the elections didn't go ahead - weren't the previous elections also missed?
It was due on Monday to be honest. And nominations had been taken etc but I have no idea who was on what list.
Have to put it on pause for the weekend at least.

I'm happy to see how it goes going forward, but that needs to be reciprocal because I've seen RF gets the dogs abuse on here and nothing be said from yourself or other admin and yet when something like this has happened, it's seen as worse than dirt.

Twitter is a free for all so I can't comment on anything from there, but I hope the new lead of the group is someone with a more transparent approach.

I'm glad you've also taken board feedback on board, and discuss is the correct word. It needs to be a board consensus and not a (in the nicest way possible) Rob view, which wrongly or rightly is how some see it as (again probably due to the transparency issue). Is there opportunity for people from the board to put themselves forward to represent the board?
