Thunberg/Tate Twitter spat..

Also it tastes bog all like milk in a bowl of cereal or i a glass, meaning you have to still buy milk for those things also.

I went through various brands of pretend milks looking for something I can swap it out with but beyond using it as a hot drink mixer, unless you're forcing yourself to be vegan or something, they're all a huge no for me.

Had the opposite experience.

It’s all we have in the house,
When people come to stay we always pop it in a jug for brekka cereal But say nowt.
Always come clean afterwards and everyone has converted afterwards.

Fair enough. As per BMs post that I was replying to, I still think everyone cutting back a little is a better plan than trying to convert however many people to being entirely vegan.

I'm similar with cheeses. The only vegan alt I've found thats anything like as good as the dairy equivalent has been those plasticy squares you get to melt on burgers.

Read since I first commented on this thread that the guys allegedly a human trafficker. Awful if that's true, what a disgusting crime.

Also makes him targetting a young lass like Thunberg a lot more sinister. I joked that they probably don't mix in the same social scenes earlier - well thank f*ck they don't. She could have been in actual danger from him.

If he is guilty of those crimes it's mental that he's tried to have this social media influencer career. Surely you'd keep your head down and enjoy the undeserved lifestyle on your ill gotten gains.

She dragged him again on Twitter after his arrest in Romania.

“See what happens when you don’t recycle your pizza boxes”
My local authority doesn't let you put pizza boxes in the recycling bin.

Unless it's changed? 😆

The ironic thing about the pizza boxes is that he used the fact that he doesn't recycle them to bait her, but then the company name on the box was apparently what helped the Romanian authorities to locate and arrest him.

Meat = Heat and deforestation and soil errosion and bio diversity loss and and causes extinction = You must stop eating it to save the planet and if you don’t act now the world will end because of apocalyptic meat eating.
FWIW, the most comprehensive analysis of food production carried out to date, done by Oxford University in 2018 showed that the single, biggest way a person can reduce their impact on the environment would be to stop eating meat and dairy.

Avoiding meat and dairy is ‘single biggest way’ to reduce your impact on Earth

That's my approach also. I'm always recommending oat milk to friends and family. Tastes the most like dairy milk in a cup of tea. Very easy thing to switch out in your shopping and then not really have to think about.

Oat milk for me too.
Tried most varieties but Alpro Barista oat comes out top (beating my previous favourite Oatly).
I hate to enlighten any fellow oat milk drinkers as I'll risk not being able to get hold of it myself, but Califia Farms Barista is the best I've tasted.
As far as use on cereal goes, I think it is a bit more luxurious than the BOB milk I usually have.

Wife and I try the ‘reduce meat intake’ with limited success. Following this thread I’m going to try and reduce milk intake too. Will try the oat-milks suggested in stuff like porridge (?) and hot drinks, and for my 3yr old who probably won’t notice the difference…
Getting millions to reduce will surely be easier than getting thousands to remove completely (ie go vegan)
So well done all, you’ve just saved a little bit more of the planet!

I'm going to give the Oat Milk another go - tried it a few months back and not impressed at all. Suppose it depends on which brand/type you buy?
Meat ....very rarely eat red meat, just chicken so going 50-70% veggie will be pretty easy.

For brands I like Oatly or the M&S own brand. I'll have to try the two mentioned above by 1finny and dood.

Whichever brand you go with oat milk needs shaking vigorously before use otherwise it separates a bit and comes out too watery.
