Boxing Day Attendance

Astonishing!
Just in the three remaining blocks in the South Stand there are only a little over 60 unsold seats! Even in the West Stand, some blocks have less than 10 seats. Amazing.
Predict - a total sell-out.

South and south west almost sold out.
It will be a great atmosphere.
Looking forward to it.

Hmm. Often find that when there is a really big crowd, especially with fans that do not go regularly, the atmosphere can be a little flat. Obviously won’t happen against Wigan, due to the scintillating performance.

About 750 tickets left for home fans plus family section and corporates.

There is going to be 29,500 home fans plus what ever Wigan bring - bigger than Chelsea in the FAC quarter-final?

I think the Riverside has had some fantastic atmospheres when sold out.

It can have.
It also had some awful atmospheres during the ST sellout era.

It's not a big crowd that makes a good atmosphere, it's the crowd really being up for it.

Often these things overlap, but "up for it" can be in response to what's happening on the pitch: The RS can have a cracking atmosphere with 14k on it. I remember a 3-1 win over brum with 9 men as particularly vibrant.

Brighton in 2016 was an excellent atmosphere and capacity Riverside crowd.

Sometimes in 30k crowds you get fans come who have been brought along for a day out with family and are nor regular football fans. It felt a bit like that against Chelsea last season. And then Chelsea got 2 first half goals which killed the game a bit.

To be honest the atmosphere for the Chelsea game was great in the second half despite the score. The TV pundits were impressed.
