Fury vs Chisora

It was in the news at the beginning of November (before he signed to fight Chisora) that Usyk needs the fight before 4th March.
Fury still chose to go ahead with the Chisora fight knowing this.
Because he wanted to fight in December, again this is not new stuff a fighter having a keep warm or ticking over fight, especially a fighter who is known to get terribly out of shape between fights, it makes perfect sense for him to fight more than someone who keeps themselves in pristine condition out of camp.

I was laughing at someone earlier in the thread listing the "bums" that Fury has fought since his comeback, man was 400lbs and out of the ring for 3/4 years, of course he's going to fight some soft touches to get himself back in shape and even then the fights against Seferi and Pianeta weren't enough because he wasn't at his best in the first Wilder fight. It took Seferi, Pianeta, Wilder 1, Schwarz and Wallin before we finally saw the Fury we see today against Wilder in the 2nd fight.

Fury needs to stay as active as possible, if he'd waited until March he'd have fought 4 times in 4 years, it's not enough for him.

Maybe he is, or maybe his beliefs have changed or become more important to him. I don't know.

But 4 months notice to make a fight isn't a daft deadline. 48 hours to sign a contract is. Even Fury's own promotion team said it couldn't be done. It was unachievable.
But by setting a March deadline for the fight your expecting the contract to be signed in the immediate future so they can set up their camps

The first time round, I agree, he needed those fights. He went through a bad spell, he was massive overweight and out of shape. It was an incredible return and he did it right. ALthought it does need to be accepted that this has padded his record.

But this time round its his own fault. He was the one who announced his farcicle retirement and let himself get rusty. He's not even that long out the ring really. 8 months at this level isn't that long. Even if he wanted the time off, just say that. Like Usyk did. Except Usyk will stay fit and will come back and fight someone at the top. Because he's a proper pro.

He then announced the comeback and was adamant on the December date because he knew the date didn't make sense for any of the other big hitters and it would be an easy pay day. When Joshua took the bait, he started putting blockers in. Joshua would probably never have fought him, his team would have rightly talked him out of it, but Fury quite clearly put the blockers in there anyway.

It's obvious what he's done. I'm not sure why people defend it.

Fury was giving Joshua 9 weeks to get in the ring when the negotiations opened...

16 weeks is plenty for a fight to be signed and a training camp. They could have had 6 weeks worth of negotiations and still signed with more notice than the proposed Fury v Joshua

If you look back at the dates, Fury was trying to get Joshua to sign a fight in 9 weeks time.

Classic whataboutery and double standards

If you are too stupid to see the difference then that's on you. It's pointless even attempting

But how can you have a sensible argument with someone who can't see the difference between the two scenarios?
Fury offered AJ the fight 12 weeks and 4 days before the proposed date, Usyk has just offered Fury a fight before the first week in March which was exactly 13 weeks. What’s the difference? 3 days?

Daft deadlines.

I also don't see Usyk releasing videos on instagram saying he's got 48 hours to sign the contract either.

Fury was already fighting in December at that point. I’d love to see your response if Fury offered someone a fight who had a fight coming up, no doubt it would be disrespectful, ridiculous etc.

Imagine Joshua was fighting on December 3rd and Fury offered him a fight in February 😂

Has Usyk sent him a contract?
How would I know that? The point is, both camps have been aware of the deadline for weeks already so if they want the fight they've had the time to prepare, negotiate, speak to TV Networks, sponsors, boxing federations etc etc so the legwork can be happening in the background. I doubt we'll hear anything from the Usyk camp until a deal is done. They don't seem to operate like that.

That wasn't the case with Fury when he came to Joshua. One minute he's retired next minute he's all over socials screaming sign the contract you dosser while Joshua is still picking himself up off the canvas.

Edit
