Absolutely dreading Newcastle winning something

Newcastle wouldn't be where they currently are without the huge investment from the Saudi's. That isn't even up for debate.

They'll continue to blast £100m's for the next few seasons (maybe even longer!) until they've won something.

Yes, money doesn't necessarily guarantee you success - Utd have and still are proving that. But if/when Newcastle do win something, it will down to the fact their new owners have thrown tons of money their way.

So yes, any trophies they win now will be tainted with Saudi money.
Surely FFP catches up at some point though?

I'm not bothered about them to be honest, they're a big club with a big fan base, and now have supremely rich owners. It's only a matter of time before they start winning things.

Might even do the North East a favour, and drag it up a bit.

I work alongside Sunderland, Newcastle & hartlepool fans & TBH, the banter between us is excellent

It would be nice if they ended up like Everton though.

Spending an absolute fortune, but always cocking up.

This is what I keep thinking as well. I know their resources are absurd but it's not necessarily going to be easy is it. Whatever they can spend who will they but that's better than Haaland or De Bruyne?

How much patience do the Saudi royals have? If it takes 3/4/5 years before the money turns in to cups will they be happy with that?

Biggest farce going FFP. They just fine you don't they? And what's a fine to these giants...like throwing pennies into an ocean.

Won't be long until Newcastle are doing what City/Chelsea do. Stockpile youngsters, send them out on loan and then spit them out, whilst generating income from it.

Horrible what they do, but they're allowed, so I guess the blame lies higher above.

Aren’t the loan rules changing tho?

Granted, the money will play a big part, I think Nottm Forest have spent more money, but from what I've read & have seen on the local news when showing the sport Eddie Howe is doing a fantastic job, is a cracking manager, maybe since Bobby Robson they have a manager who will take them to the next level

I cant believe how nauseous it is already cos they have had a decent run.

Hello you have won fk all still.
But they will - sooner rather than later. Big money buys you trophies as we have seen with Manchester City, after years being largely the laughing stock of Manchester

I honestly don't see any trickle down benefits to Boro.
If anything we will become less visible.
Yeah not buying this "good for the north east" argument.

We're an hour away by car, we're only really associated with them in football terms because there are no closer teams of remotely similar stature.

Any boost there is will benefit Newcastle, certainly not an entirely separate town/club an hour away.

Might as well say it's good for us Leeds being back in the Premier League.

100% This.

I'm not sure why people think having a mega rich club in the North East will be good for the mackems, Boro, Darlo, or Hartlepool. Having Man City and Man Utd on their doorstep never did Bury, Bolton or Stockport any favours did it. If anything there'll be a new generation of glory supporters seen wearing NUFC shirts around northeastern towns if they become the success people believe they'll become. They'll take new supporters away from the other NE clubs, there'll be no benefit outside of Newcastle, none.

Not sure? Haven't seen/read anything?

Even if they do, they'll no doubt find another loophole or be able to bend them, to suit themselves.

That report dated Jan 2022, and since then, so far nothing has happened?

I won't hold my breath when it comes to FIFA.
