When you actually analyse his career statistics, 40 goals in 220 appearance doesn't make for great reading, but his first loan spell in the Championship was at Forest. He would have been 19, and didn't score in 7 appearances.
The following season he only managed to score 3 goals in 36 appearances at Hull, and didn't manage to score in 10 appearances the following season at Brighton.
