Chuba has the best GPG ratio in the league!

Who honestly thought this would happen?

It seemed like he couldn't trap a ball or find any space. Now he holds up play, then turns and runs at the defence. And scores.

Brilliant. Maybe environment, maybe just timing. He's been great.

When you actually analyse his career statistics, 40 goals in 220 appearance doesn't make for great reading, but his first loan spell in the Championship was at Forest. He would have been 19, and didn't score in 7 appearances.

The following season he only managed to score 3 goals in 36 appearances at Hull, and didn't manage to score in 10 appearances the following season at Brighton.

He made 53 appearances (almost a quarter of his overall career appearances) in the Championship whilst still being a young up and coming player finding his feet really, but then his GPG records whilst playing in Greece and Belgium during the following four seasons is actually decent.

The Championship is a tough league for a youngster - look at how well Balogun is doing in France, compared to how he performed here last season.

Akpom's back playing in the Championship now as an experienced, well travelled striker and it seems he is finally developing into the player he always had the potential to become.

Thought Balogun was just starting to find his feet when he was bizzarly dropped by Wilder. What a shocking decision
