Best goal scored against boro

I was very impressed by an Albert Quixall goal for Sheffield Wednesday - our keeper never moved ! That Rooney goal was a bit special mind
 
Torres at the riverside for me. I remember being annoyed about how much space he’d found himself in, then impressed by the quality of the strike.
One thing I miss about the PL is seeing talent like this, sometimes you just have to applaud.
(similar to when Juninho scored that 1-2 against united at old Trafford and you could see their fans clapping)

This was during his pomp obviously

I think you could say that about almost any goal where a player dances through a defence like that. Including the famous examples of Maradona, Weah etc. That one Gaston scored for us in the PL, although it was a great run, they literally just chose not to tackle him.

Aye, probably a fair point, and Wilshere especially showed himself up with that Ramirez goal.

I think it's partly because I found Payet really unlikeable, so the hype the goal created annoyed me when I saw so many of our players failing to do the basics during it.
 
I remember Carl Harris scoring a goal for Leeds at Ayresome Park where he hit the ball so hard that it got wedged in the back of the net behind the stantion.
 
I remember Ossie Ardiles and Ricky Villa playing ‘cos I’d never seen an Argentine before. Can’t remember any goals tho’

That’s mine. Amazing goal but was the cherry on top of an amazing team performance, they were absolutely ridiculous - best performance of anyone we’ve ever played against that I’ve seen.

I was in the South West corner for that match and remember the whole stadium applauding Kanu’s goal. Quite nice when that happens.

Totally agree, the pace and power that arsenal team was ridiculous, made it look like we were a u15's team!!!
 
David Platt (for Villa) overhead kick from the halfway line just before/ just as the final whistle was blown.

It didn’t count.. but still.

They were like modern football but 25 years ahead of its time. Funny how United won more because they had the mentality but they weren’t as flashy as that Arsenal team, and when they were on song they were ridiculously good.

Henry, Bergkamp (!), Overmars, Vieira and Petit, Kanu, Anelka and that old school defence of Tony Adams, Keown, Dixon, Winterburn and Seaman. Then they added a young Ashley Cole and a very young Cesc Fabregas, who was one of the best players in the league aged 18.

Seriously good team that. I swear if they were playing today they’d still be winning leagues or thereabouts, that was a new style of football.
